Given that he is struggling to adjust under fisher's coaching; Will it be a mistake to let him go in his second year? Personally,I believe it would be a mistake to trade him.

I was a mistake to let Crawford go , it was a mistake to let Xack Randolp go, It was a mistake to let david Lee go, It was a mistake to let Nate Robinson go it was a mistake to let Fry go. What did we gain?? Our problem is that we are too quick to get rid of our young.

crawford is still inconsistent, and he was the king of off season talk when he was here. crawford off the bench is fine, however the knicks were not good enough to have him do that. dont miss him. randolph without structure seems to turn into a head case. dont think dantoni would have provided that if he stayed and not sure if randolph/lee could have meshed. randolph has that structure where he is. not sure it makes sense to think cuz its working where he is now (both lee and zach), he would have made it work here. dont miss nate at all. frye was and is still a big ole softy. i dont think these guys would not have put this team over combined and didnt when they were here as they were being asked to fill much larger roles than they could handle/bad coaches/bad everything. they had to go in order to make attempts to find guys who could handle things and the FO failed to do it.

that said, letting the new kids grow is needed. they need to see what these kids can do. they didnt really do this well in the run to 2010, and it would not be good to repeat that in the 2015 run up.

All of the players I mentioned played important minuets for a team that has a winning record better than us.Teams can't wait to play us. They mark it up as a win.

they were 6-5 when the first trades went down. that team as constructed was not going to contend. i assume you are talking about the 6-5 knicks team in 2008...

why worry about what might have been with a team that wasnt going to be a contender?

If I were the Knicks, I would hire RIP Hamilton to come and work with THJ to teach him the art of using screens since his strong suit is offense for now. This hire would be money well spent. RIP and THJ appear to have similar built, he would be a wonderful teacher for THJ

Not a bad recommendation. I'm listening to Rip Hamilton on Gametime though and he sounds like a moron. He has a poor grasp of the language and doesn't seem to his basketball acumen seems less than stellar. He might be more of a follower than a guy who can lead anyone to do anything.

The fact that he is not articulate does not mean he doesn't know the game. He played at a very high level and mastered his position. He knows the nuances of using screens to create space and could be a great mentor for THJ. Gary Payton is not an eloquent speaker either, but many (I.e.: J Kidd) would consult him for advice.
