Our backcourt is putrid we have no real C we have so many gaps that its impossible to blame one guy and certainly Amare is not reason 1 why we sck.
I disagree with the comparison. Zack's game evolved a lot, while STATs regressed. ZACK learned to share the ball, and defend his position. He was always a double double machine. Same can't be said for STAT
Zach is a good player. Its an absurd comparison. Zach can actually play within an offense or ISO, whatever is called for. He can pass the ball. He's a quality rebounder. He plays winning ball. He's consistent as hell.
I think ZACH is best suited for system ball
Consistently getting numbers on his terms probably wasn't the best route to go
Too many wasted possessions here and as the videoShowed above he did this against the defensive stalwart in Bargnani of all players
In regards to Amar'e when he said thishttp://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/knicks/...
CLOSED CASKET on what kind of idiot we picked up
OMG that video is depressing!

Not true--lets be real.Amare at one point was a top 5-10 NBA player on a great Phoenix team. Unstoppable. His first year with the Knicks he avg 25 points 9 rebounds 3 assists 2 blocks. The contract was stupid because the md's told him what was going to happen. Since that time weve had a different Amare--still consistent but you look at his contract and then say well he scks on D hes stupid etc... hes limited in time and body. Would you be unhappy if he was giving us 25-9-3-2 right now? No because wed be 14-4 not 4-14. We took a 100mm $ risk with Amare--so stupid contract YES.
Not true? You respond to my comments that Zach is a good player and you don't even talk about Zach. Amare is an idiot basketball player. And, yes, it was a stupid contract.
Those are my two key points, stupid player and stupid contract, yet you dance around the topic like a Mexican jumping bean. Would you focus please?
Amare was a great player on a great team. Amare at his best was a better player than Zach Randolph. Hey we traded Zach to get Amare! Amare was jipped by injury. When healthy even if Amare couldnt tie his shoes--he was a top 5 NBA talent who was a shaq from the PF position.

Dude, who cares? This is the Stat is stupid thread. Besides, whatever points you think you're making are citing all kinds of back-dated expired information. Nobody cares about Phoenix-era Stat. Knicks-era Stat bites the big one. Besides, Zach doesn't play like a total moron. Stat does. That's the point. Plus he talks crap. Stats Defense has been the absolute least of our issues... Shumpert, THJ, and JR have been the worse defenders in the league and inconsistent and erratic on the offensive end. They get lit up on nightly basis, they never get to the FT line, and they have the lowest IQ i have every seen from a SG.
In fact the only big to have a decent game against us, was GREG MONROE (23 points), so please explain to me how stats defense is even a quarter of the reason we are 4-12

Is stat the reason we take 12 FT's a game, is he the reason that guards come in and have career and seasons highs from all over the perimeter, is he the reason our SG's are dumber than dumber, is he the reason, our rotation is a fkng mess.
While mostly every NBA analyst have been raving about stat this season, the same old poster keep talking about his defense, like he's the reason this team is retarded, and the coach is clueless

We don't have to explain anything.
You can let the fan base of the teams those players play on deal with their public comments.
This thread is about our very own idiot named Amar'e Stoudemire and the public comments he makes about DEFENSE and being a student of the game and a master of his craft.
He is a schmuck. He talks about what he doesn't do. Over and Over and Over again. That's the point. I could care less about the defensive lapses of other players around the league, but I'll bet most of them don't publicly embarrass themselves even further by making such ludicrous statements.
Stat likes playing pin the tail on the donkey. He's just too clueless to realize he's the donkey.

Are you incapable of observing the premise of a thread?
We are not obligated to you to discuss other players to soften the blow about comments on your pet Amare.
You and Briggs are flailing around injecting irrelevant comments simply because you don't like anyone to bash Stat. Too bad. Go start a thread then where you can compare the defensive failings of every player on this sorry roster to your heart's content. You can come up with a scoring system and rate them by degrees of atrociousness.
This thread is not about Tim Hardaway. Focus!
knicks1248 wrote:Funny how last week when JR said the team played with no heart, only to see him let HARDEN light is ass up like a christmas tree, there was no thread about how stupid he is.
The game threads have been a non-stop JR jokeathon. Apparently, your quest for quid pro quo bashing requires an equal balancing of threads initiated to attack each sorry player on the team at precise intervals so every week justice is meted out equally as you are implying is the only way to run a board.

Amare is a bad defender, so he shouldn't say anything about the effort from the rest of his mates? If anyone needs to focus it's you sir. You have no idea why this team is bad. I've always said, I couldn't give two shts weather amare is here or not, there isn't a single player on this roster that will go down as my favorite knick, i don't care for any of them.
I'm just as critical about amare when he's playing like a jack ass as well as any player on the roster. Amare is having a solid season, and that doesn't matter to you. Even if amare had 10 blocks and 10 steals you would still have nothing but hate, and negative comments..and to me that makes zero sense.
knicks1248 wrote:Fisher said pretty much the same thing Amare said, where's the hate for him. He's the one in charge of having is team prepared and ready.
You're funny. That's the coach's job. If Stat actually knew how to play defense, then it wouldn't be so embarrassing. You think he's having a good season, yet teams still go on big runs with him on the court. He's a clown on defense. He can work hard, but he can't do it intelligently, because he's a BB moron. Him talking about defense is like Pavoratti talking about his fitness regimen.
The original post was his words. So you're saying you respect his statements to the press? You think it shows he is a leader to call out his teammates on defense, to boast about being a student of the game and a master of his craft? You find this notable and respectable and not ludicrous?
If so, then you're in a tiny minority at this point. Stat is a joke. If he's as good as you think he is, he'll land a nice fat contract with somebody next year. The reality though is he'll get something close to a minimum contract at best or he'll be playing in Israel.

I wouldn't even disagree with you, except it is still a sad commentary on the state of the Knicks. Saying Melo and Stat are our two best players is also a concession that our two best players sometimes excel at one end of the court. When your two best overpaid stars are one-way players and the rest of the team is in meltdown, it is small comfort saying Stat can get us some points in loss after loss. He can talk big and try to impose himself on other teams and occasionally he'll have his way on offense. Then on other nights, he'll fumble along with everyone else and not even be a factor on the offensive end. He's the antithesis of good basketball. Thank god he'll be out the door soon. He is no more a factor in building a winning culture than Mickey Mouse. He's a stupid basketball player no matter how much you love him.

the problem is that he gives up more points than he gets. So, having him on the floor for 36 minutes may not be a good thing.
There was a reason why he was ranked 425th out of 430 players in Real Plus Minus (RPM) last season.

Still a major MAJOR as the 1st and 2nd best players[If True]
Play for self and are easily the 2 biggest ball whores and defensive liabilities
Mankind has ever seen, I think Briggs you get caught up
In what the final box scores say instead of what you're actually watching
One sip of the Melogac or the Statrum or Smithessy
And you're on your way to an intoxicated sloppy mess of judgement
I'm tired of the broken record from fans who
Consistently blame the roster every yr, when the top heavy portion
Of it are paid a King's Ransom
It's their heads who should be on the platter not anyone else

That's just one stat though and it's definitely been criticized. Right now, his offensive and defensive ratings per 100 possessions are 113 and 107. I think he's playing at a pretty good level, though I definitely would not want him to be a top 4 player on the team.
