He's a point forward and the triangle thrives on those kinds of players. With the Nets in the doldrums, maybe we could acquire him as a contract dump. Thoughts?
EDIT: I'd personally do it but would wait until after the season ended, to ensure we suck as badly as humanly possible. We need that pick to be a top 3 one and acquiring Joe Johnson would fuck those plans up. If JR Smith is involved in the deal and filler (cap space), I think it's a reasonable deal if we intend to keep Melo and try to win ball games.
Sure. I say trade our #1 picks in 2015 & 2017
Absolutely. Melo is bulletproof. He'll gladly share the ball with Joe Johnson.
Joe is a fine player, under rated except for his contract, but he'd eat too much cap space.

Only in they are unprotected.

At this point I'd trade them for each other.

cant trade them anway even if we wanted to. However i hope the days of throwing away 1st round draft picks are over. The Bargs trade is a perfect example of the dangers of it

Sure, why not? WTF. OK. Let's do it.

Papers writing now that Fish still considers Bargs a major part of the plan and the rotation won't be settled until he is back on the court. Hee haw!
He's only 33yrs old. Lets wait 2 more yrs when he really is over the hill. HardupNation stop with these ridiculous trades for 30yr old + players with ridiculous contracts. There is a salary cap in basketball. This isnt fantasy basketball

There are going to be a lot of good players we can sign this summer at Joe Johnson's level, only younger and cheaper.
fukkin hillarious
Nard, you can only have 12 players on a team. How will you make room for all your retards?

If getting Joe Johnson means losing Cole Aldrich, ixnay to this deal!
No, not unless they're going to give us a future 1st and they've already traded all of them to Boston and Atlanta.
F... No, we should not look to trade for JJ.

Why do you insist on trying to make these lame, sarcastic points? What does that contribute? What has it ever contributed?

But what else would we do with the cap space in 2015? In 2016, he expires and we're back to playing the cap space game. At least in the interm, Johnson provides a second credible all-star next to Melo....if the goal is to try and win games with Melo.

You honestly think he's being serious? What is he suppose to say? "The guy sucks and no one wants him."?

Johnson is only on the cap until 2016. In effect, he'd be a one year rental and would provide us with a second all-star caliber player in the interim.
