Melo can guard the 3 or 4....but the reason why nobody can guard him is because he hasnt learned or dooesnt know how or doesnt have the skill to score without using so much energy on offense. He doesnt have anything left in the tank for defense. Look how good he looks on the usa team....he doesnt have to guard the best player.....hes surrounded by better defensive players. And hes not the focal point on offense. Which is why his jumper was effortless and his scoring was efficient. With the knicks, its the exact opposite on both ends. So he either needs to be a lebron lite with superman powers or phil needs to build around his weaknesses.

Here's my (3 yr) plan:
2014
1. Season ending surgery for melo
2. Trade jr if possible
3. Play out the rest of the yr...tank
2015
1. Draft a big (towns)
2. Pay max money to rondo
3. Use the rest of money to buy role players like rivers, Cunningham or whoever
4. win 40 games
2016
1. Spend money on real stars once the cap increases
2. get a real star in their prime so that melo (older) is the #2 option
