It cost us a number 1 unrestricted pick in 2016 a second round pick 4mm in cap space next year and almost 8mm in the following. We cant trade for sht--we ALWAYS lose on trades. And the one fucki** deal we didnt do--Kyle Lowry was just as big a fuk up.
At least bargs is off the books next year
If these moves help land top three pick it would be totally worth it. Having Lowry here would make the Knicks better but just good enough to miss out on the top picks. I say enjoy this ride right now no reason to get worked up after each loss.

True--I think posts like these are a message to the Knicks--just let it be--youve already fcked it up.

so were you for trading for lowry or against?
Is there still a chance for the Knicks to trade away the 2015 pick?

No
thank god the cba doesn't allow trading picks in consecutive years
but don't be sad. they will trade Okafor for Josh Smith after Dec 15 2015
BasketballJones wrote:Is there still a chance for the Knicks to trade away the 2015 pick?
Yes, but we can't trade the pick now. After we draft whoever we draft we could then trade the rights to that player. I'm going to be terrified watching the whole draft and waiting for an announcement that we've made a trade.

You know whats unbelievable--that we actually have this pick. how in the world did this pick make it through without being atleast swapped with the Houston Rockets somehow for their 24 pick?

It really is. We've traded away or swapped draft picks going back almost an entire decade; it's like a miracle when we have our own pick.

Obviously somebody screwed up somewhere.

Going forward, if we've learnt one thing from the past decade: DONT TRADE ANY MORE FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS EVER AGAIN! We could have rebounded from all of our salary cap hells and disastrous acquisitions if we'd just kept our first rounders- we could have drafted Amar'e, LaMarcus Aldridge, Noah- the list is endless.

I'd be willing to trade a future first rounder with reasonable restriction for either a YOUNG player recently drafted or if a current team is looking to swap out and we have a player we TRULY like--Id swap a 2015 or a 2016 for a 2017. Now just to throw it in for a vet like Bargs--inexcusable. No one was paying it--we were taking his contract. To throw around 2nd rounders as well-- its going to eat us this year as its like a late 1.

I still remember screaming at the t.v. when we picked up Antonio McDyss on draft day.

And I was at the draft and having been born in Brazil I was ecstatic when we drafted Nene. What a nightmare. Chaney plays Mcdyess who is recovering from serious knee surgeries 40mims in game 1 of presesson to get the win and his knee goes and ends the mcdyess era before it even began! Can't make it up. Only the Knicks

I was so excited when we drafted Nene, he was pretty hyped up and I had visions of a dominant front court with him and Camby. Instead, we traded both for McDyess who never played a meaningful minute for us. It's really an underrated terrible trade but people forget about it because of the Ewing and Curry trades.

Lowry
And if we'd done that, in 2017, when Lowry would be on the decline/injured and Melo was breaking down, we would have been back to praying we just make the playoffs so another team didn't get another lottery pick from us.
