Wesley Johnson or KJ McDaniels to team up with Greak Freak

Iman, Tim Hardaway JR, Acy, and whoever to get back future picks
Focus on development and adding talents without overpaying, hopefully by 2017-2018, after the next lockout the salaries will rise much and hopefully grab 2 quality players that fit in together with our philosophy and roster

Wron Wron is Back!!!!!!!!!
Great abstract. Totally lacks any consideration of detail, cap considerations and what the other team nees or has as assets!!! Forget Trade waiver too!!! Just trade him to "What ever"!!!!
I still think our best move, if we keep Carmelo, is to acquire bad contracts that are coupled with draft picks. We won't be getting high impact players via free agency, so we might as well try our hand in the draft in search of the. I'd be willing to take on both Jennings and Josh Smith if the Pistons relinquish their 2015 pick. Maybe if we acquired the Mavericks pick for taking Felton's contract, we can flip it in the deal to make it easier to swallow for Detriot. All I know is that I'd love a shot at Emmanuel Mudiay and Jahlil Okafor moving forward.

Everyone's available but what are we expecting to get in return? Anything outside of a Melo trade is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic and Melo has a full no-trade clause so trading him will be extremely difficult.

Not really, its pretty much a "you cant trade me to just any random team"

It narrows the number of possible trade partners from 29 down to probably 2 or 3
We should target Gobert and Georgiu Dieng - we should do everything in our power to convince Melo to leave. Time to acknowledge what has been painfully obvious for the last 4 years - we can't win with this team or these players. Get rid of every last one of them!
everyone should go, I am sick to watch this team somehow unless they can show me some improvement, some heart, some wins.

I Seriously doubt it was ever going to be more than 5 teams at most. Very few teams can absorb this type of salary for a dubious value that Melo brings.
I would trade for Deron Williams If he is truly available. When healthy, he is a special player.

HELL NO
Talk about to much bad contracts in Pgs and we finally getting cap and now you trying to add 20 million for 3 years on to that for some inconsistent piece of crap? No thank you

I think you stay away from Deron. Injuries, a rep as a malcontent and a long deal makes him pretty undesirable.

What if they add their first round pick to the deal???
You have to just adore when posters make misleading thread titles.

Exactly, and as I said on another thread, you couldn't spend summer talking Melo out of signing with a contender, then turn round and trade him to a bum team a couple of months later- agents and free agents would blacklist us. If we were going to trade him it was always going to have to be to a contender.

Anyone is tradeable depending on the deal. If we took back a lot of salaries and offered 18 first round picks, I'm sure other teams would jump in. Obviously I don't want to do that but you don't want to just eliminate 90% of the league from being trade partners immediately. If there wasn't a disadvantage to the player having a no-trade clause, then it would just be thrown into all max contracts.

The Nets have no 1st rounders available to trade. Their 2015 goes
to Atlanta (Joe Johnson) and the subsequent picks go to Boston (Garnett/Pierce deal). They are actually pretty screwed in that department.

Knicks might be able to push STAT onto Philly so the 76ers can meet the salary floor. If it happens, the Knicks are NOT going to get an asset for the deal. But pushing STAT off the roster opens up valuable minutes for THJr and Early.
I think Philly could give up a 2nd rd pick for STAT. Otherwise why would the Knicks make the deal?
