its not really a bad argument even the broadcasters mentioned it. I like melo but i am fair about his strengths and weaknesses

the term superstar can be misleading nowadays. Melo is a all star scorer but i dont consider him a elite talent like lebron, durant, and the emerging anthony davis
You just named the top 3 players in the game. No one else is in the same class as them either.
true but i would take steph curry, irving and a few others as well
I love it when these "better without melo" always gets everyone riled up

its a few specific people which is fine
Melo has been the best player on 50 win teams his entire career. But because we only lost by 6 to the bulls we are better without him lol.

We ran a lot of it, we had some Amar'e and Smith ISO moments
But we got plenty done within the system
They went most of the 4th qtr going into their PnR sets. They run the triangle for a heavy amount in most games just like this game but tonight it is not an issue. I find that interesting Well not really it is kind of predictable. just like saying the ball flowed when they had under 20 ast. Some people see what they want to see.

i respect your loyalty and wanting to come to his defense but i dont think anyone was bashing him. The ball seemed to move more freely tonight especially against a tough defensive team

I would say outside of those top 3 he is in the next class of players, 8-10 of them. Melo might not be a franchise player but there are very few in the league right now.

Based on this size of a sample I can't disagree.

Great post. Pretty sure there will be someone to dismiss this based on one loss to a good team though.

its not like im saying he is a bum. He is a all star and great scorer. But he isnt the type of player who has a great overall game or makes guys better. Thats not a knock on him its just what he is
Phil's teams weren't always triangle 100 percent of the time .... Also would melo have helped the answer is yes if he was coached correctly with out being a ball hog and we didn't go through a melo third quarter where he shoots z10 times in a row and misses 9 and we go down by 15 and the rest of the team is emotionally darned and there is no climbing back cause melo is not a leader

If you are as fair as you claim to be, why do you always have to remind everyone about how fair you are just before you bash him?

Actually our record without Melo since he's been a Knick
Is better than our current 5-20 record with him this season

Whenever the Knicks lose I contemplate whether they are better without melo.

um...how did i bash him. I called him a all star and top scorer. Sure thats bashing. So im not allowed to point out his flaws either
gunsnewing wrote:I love it when these "better without melo" always gets everyone riled up
who's riled up?
Again. Melo is a ball hog/ how many 24 second shot clocks did we get tonight trying to get the ball to one player. Zero. Did we go through a 0 for 10 like we always do with melo, no ... Is melo a great scorer yes, is our coach setting the team up to be a team with melo... Not really when did Jordan or Kobe shoot the ball as much melo over and over again making the rest of the team stagnate

you seem to be. I mean i think melo gets some unwarranted hate but at the same time some get upset if anybody is a tad critical of of his game
