Phil is the only gm in knick history that will be allowed to tank for pick # 1 without getting fired... Just like pop was genus to sit d rob to have a chance to snag t Duncan. Phil will get his shot at ok4 with tons of cap space to snag good role players and another super star or two ... Phil will build a champ caliber team... And saying free agents don't want to come to ny is just silly win a champ in ny and become a legend in the greatest/ richest city in America.. Again it's not a hard sell what so ever... We will be a top team in the east next year no doubt about it

I believe in the era. I reserve to be disappointed.
"The jury is out" or "I'm not convinced" seems like " I don't want to be wrong"!!!

I can live with disappointment. Have for 41 years. Im a grown man. No tears.

Im pretty sure in a few years we won't be "Damn, if only we didn't have Jose!!!".
No team gets it perfect.

Im rooting for phil. I have rooted for a rebuild for years. Guess what it costs to be wrong?

Agree and I don't think you can minimize the importance of your first sentence. No one else would have been allowed to do this.

I never thought about it like that but you guys may be onto something here. If this is indeed the case for the love of Jah we better hit the jackpot.

Dave Debusschere was also given the tank pass during the Ewing draft nearly 30 years ago.

I think Phil is planning to tank every year so we can always get the #1 pick.
Even next year, at least we'd get the #1 pick of the 2nd round

Ha. Yeah i'm pretty sure Phil is hoping and praying he can have a Spurs type of tank and land a franchise player. We should all hope for that kind of tank.

Actually, Houston would get the #1 pick of the 2nd round since they have our pick. I'm not exactly sure how it got there but we originally traded it to Portland in the Felton deal. Rest assured, if we're still one of the worst teams in the league next season there will be posters here explaining that it was Jackson's plan all along.

Well if the NBA decides to implement a 3rd round, we'd get the first pick!

This is an epic moment for the knicks.

Usually we'd see some panic starphuch patch job to try to save the season and make a playoff run.
Instead we have;

1. a coach not losing his mind
2. media on board with what is happening instead of bashing.
3. Players waived or dumped.
4. Yoots getting big minutes. We lost by 23 last nite but instead of JR trying to shoot the team back into the game, the yoots played!!!!
5. Developement of them yoots is apparent. Commitment to a plan.

The culture shift is not just words but transparent.

Top with a great chance for the no. 1 pick with 30$mil in cap space (don't have to use it all this year), some yoot and PERHAPS things we can't see yet gives me greater HOPE than the sold starphuch model.

There are players that shake loose. Monta Ellis on a good team is proving to be a nice cornerstone. Milwaukee is developing itself nicely without him. To have kept him might have held back the organization.
Im not making any paralells to any particular player but its evident you can lose a player and still grow. We are/have shedding Amare, Priggy, JR, Sam, Tyson, and maybe Jose and Andrea. What we can't see is what the next generation looks like.

Fear, Faith and Hope. Its what makes adventures fun. Ultimatly the proof will be in the end result, but this can be fun too!!!!
