In addition some young players and expirings, like young players like DMO, Terrence Jones, Beverely, Koustas PAP

I do not think that we can get what I want if Melo is really hurt for this season and needs surgery though
Teams will not give that for him if he would not be healthy enough to increase the teams chances of winning this year

I don't think that we can get anywhere close to that. The contract in itself pretty much makes him valueless.

You don't think Dallas would do that deal I listed?

Maybe ... the Parsons deal looks pretty bad too.

I listened to a couple of Cuban interview and I don't think they have interest in Melo. And, it would be quite risky for them.

I do think the knicks would be smart to make such a move. Melo for another 4 years will be a big problem though Parsons is not gonna really help them (at least in the short term) aside from coming off the books a lot sooner.

However, Dolan would never let all that potential money walk. its all about the earning power that Melo has. It always was.

You're probably right.
I would never give Parsons that kind of contract. However, I do think he is a solid NBA starter, and we'd have his Bird rights to re-sign him after the 2 years. At least he's young enough now that he'll still be a worthwhile NBA player by the time we have a good team.

the problem is that you keep making (valid) basketball arguments but you don't take into account the business side of it. Melo makes way too much money for this team. Another season like this tough, that will change fast.

No, I fully get that. I was proposing the trade just for the enjoyment of the discussion, not because I think Dolan will do it.

You don't think Dallas would do that deal I listed?

What trade/deal did you have list?

Dallas makes sense for CA and there was interest in him in the start of the summer
Dallas is in Houston so he gets to join a contender and make more money with in contract as he would be in Dallas

They do not have many picks that we could use that I would like to get back
Not the biggest on Parsons contract either and I we would also have to take back a older PG in either a 2-3year deal in Harris or Felton AGAIN
I would prefer another team with more young players and picks that we could use in this draft and future drafts, I want at least 1 1st rounder and MANY 2nd rounders, 5-6 with majority of it being early/mid
Depending on what other players a team sends back, picks can vary...

I do not think Rhondo is a good fit for the scheme/philosophy that Dallas has been playing for successfully for many years
He is a ball dominant PG that does not have the ability to be a shooting threat, the complete oppossite of how Dallas plays

I do not think Rhondo is a good fit here either however, I do not mind him as an expiring and possible ability to retraded him in the future for some sort of assets

If MosGoV can net 2 future 1st rounders, there is no reason to believe that CA can not net use 2x-3x more than what MosGoV can IF he is able to play this year/post season....

You really can't compare Mozgov to CA. Its his damn contract thats the problem.

Agree about Rondo. That would be a disaster.
