Unfortunately OK4 doesn't excite me. It's Towns I want. I'm almost considering taking Mudiay & Russell over OK4

yeah, that Towns ship? it's sailed

Not if Minny takes OK4, which some reports suggest may be the target.

gunsnewing @ 5/23/2015 1:22 PM
Yeah but then the Lakers definitely take Towns

I don't think the Lakers are interested in a Randle/OK4 frontcourt. Towns/Randle is a different story

I hope you are right about them not drafting Okafor but I doubt he makes it past the 2nd pick.

No way the Lakers would ever pass on Towns- he would go with Randle or Love, and if they don't get Love, Towns is still an excellent piece to build around- there is zero chance they pass on him. And then even if they did, there is no way the Sixers would pass on him. Towns ain't happening- there is no possible scenario, unfortunately.

Maybe Randle goes in a trade for Love or Rondo and then they take OK4

I know I'm the only one who seems to think Melo to the Lakers for their pick (and maybe Kobe's contract and Randle if they need cap space to sign Love and Rondo) is a possibility, but comments like this help to feed my delusion.

I like Melo, but I just don't see how we can build a contender in the timescale he wants- there's no way he'll put up with another losing year (which is most likely)

Feel like most Knick fans would do Melo for #2 in a heartbeat. I would happily pay for my tickets next season if we decide to go that route. With the cap space we have, no reason why we can't be semi competitive next season while building something for the future as well.

Really sucks that we don't have our pick next season....

That would be something. It would be the opposite of how the Knicks operate but it would dramatically change the franchise. It might take a couple of years but if the Knicks hit on the 2nd and 4th pick the team would be set. Also, I think the Knicks have a good shot at Harris. I think if Skiles goes to the Magic and they select a 3/4 they will let him go.

PULL THE TRIGGER ALREADY!!

it'd be great to get rid of melo but he has a no-trade clause, no doubt a dolan-sourced inclusion that made an-already ridiculous contract execrable.

He liked the lakers, and would be happy to play with Love and Rondo- everyone wins with this trade!

smackeddog @ 5/24/2015 11:49 AM
though I think reading those comments, there is a very high chance they trade OK4 for cousins

What do people think of Robert Upshaw? There's a nice interview with him on his profile on draftexpress- comes across as a nice guy, despite the worries over his character

Not sure but draftnet has him going 58th in their mock. He definitely is worth a pick there. It seems like he dropped quite a bit in their mock but I could be wrong.

It’s worth noting that Philadelphia, much like the Lakers, plans to use its lottery pick as opposed to trading it to someone else.

“I find that hard to believe,” Hinkie said when asked if the pick could be more valuable to another team than it is to the Sixers. “We are clearly building through the draft. We are trying to find star players that we can move forward with. There may be other teams out there more interested and more committed and interested in that sort of thing, but I doubt it.”

He is 25th on draftexpress. I wonder why they are so different.

It's mainly his attitude/character- I read he's the hardest player to project in the draft, because he could go from 10 to the second round. He was kicked off two college teams- that's the issue. Measurements in the Combine were fantastic- I think he was the tallest, longest player.

jbeachboy @ 5/25/2015 1:17 PM
is he could at offense or defense?
smackeddog @ 5/26/2015 3:56 PM
Looks like either Sacramento or Denver are after the lakers pick (I suspect Sacramento):

“Let’s just say there was a team that had the fifth or sixth or seventh pick, and they wanted to go to No. 2,” Kupchak told SiriusXM NBA Radio. “In that area of the draft, just to move up two or three or four slots, normally, it’s hard to do. And the price that that team would pay would be high, because they’ve targeted a player that they really want. Obviously the other team would know that, and they would have to pay for that.”
