Knicks · Official 2015 NBA Knick Draft Thread.... (page 4)

Tyler Harvey another 35-3-2 tonight. Wish we could see more of their team but even with the CBB package--you only saw him play beginning of year. You have to wait to see if E Washington makes it top their conference final and NCAA's to get a couple of games on TV.

So you watch NCAAB but not really for NBA?
Obviously college basketball is your thing or do channel surfing?

How would I use advanced stats to measure the rest of GS players below and how what they compare as Livingston and Iggy's usuage is probably highest as bench players though Iggy and Speights play as the 7th/8th man respectively

Eventually Holiday is another player I would look to steal and maybe even Brandon Rush if we can grab Draymond Green

Justin Holiday

Iggy

Livingston

Speights

What? I don't understand the question.

What combination of advanced stats would I use for the above players since they play different positions and roles and how would they match up since their minutes are lower
Like a player like Brandon Wright, his numbers could be misleading because his FG% is very high since and doesn't play many minutes but is highly efficient because most of his shots are dunks though he could hid the mid range at times too....

Wright is similar to a backup of Tyson Chandler where he could be like 8/10 on a nightly basis if he got minutes....

There are a bunch of advance stats. You just try to take several stats pool them together and make an opinion. Since they are back ups you may want to use there per 36 #s. Also, you may think Iggy has a high USG but ever since he has been in GSW his usg rate has been really low. Last year it was 13.3 and this year it's 12.7.

Anyway just try to read up on somethings

USG

Ts%

Sportvu data

Reb

+/-

real +/-

adjusted +/-

Off/Def ratings

Overall impact you could use win shares (ws/48) and some people use win produce.

There are much more and its growing

Better start scouting for the 7th or 8th pick if we keep this winning up

Well sky is the limit, another streak or two and we will be in the wonderful 23 win situation. 7th or 8th might be too optimistic

its ironic because this is one of the rare years that we actually had our pick AND had a great chance at being in top 3, now i wouldnt be surprised if we win 10 in a row and screw up our draft position. If that happens phil better hit a homerun in free agency

It sounds like Melo might be out tonight. It will be interesting to see if Hardaway gets extended time and sees himself as the number one option tonight. That might be enough to end the winning streak. It is fun to watch the team compete. Rubio's ankle injury in Minny isn't helping out the Knicks either.

i want them to compete but at this point winning hurts our future

Brandon Jennings injured. Looked bad.
mreinman @ 1/24/2015 10:02 PM
hollins is a damn good coach
TPercy @ 1/28/2015 8:18 PM
Jerian Grant lighting it up, that dude is freaking Russel Westbrook but can shoot better favorite guard in the draft.
NYKBocker @ 1/28/2015 8:50 PM
Hopefully Big Chief Triangle can get another 1st rounder and a 2nd rounder this coming draft.
yellowboy90 @ 1/28/2015 9:11 PM
Okafor lacks the little roll off post overplay for an alley oop in his game. He needs to put that in.

Grant is no where near as athletic as Westbrook but he has played his way into the lottery tonight---any mid round dream is gone. At the end of the day hes a 6-4 pure PG with high end agility body control ball-handling and court vision who can also shoot and play defense.

BRIGGS @ 1/28/2015 10:44 PM
The only thing okafor lacks is a quick first step/jump. His body doesnt have fast twitch movements necessary to defend/ block shots at his size(6-10) in a material way. He's a very decent defender a great offensive player and has all the ability to be a great rebounder. Hes the number 1 player Russell is a close 2nd but no one else. Anthony Towns is light years from Okafor.
Hes a George Foreman and to block shots and play great D you need to be Muhammad Ali
FistOfOakley @ 1/28/2015 10:53 PM
i don't think ok4 is a good defender at all... duke's ranked 52nd in the nation in defense and that was before today's game...

grant has developed into a nice player... i kind of like him.. there are a lot of nice big pg's in the draft... mudiay, wright and grant...

To me, Grant could be the better out of those guys because he plays tough defense, he is a better shooter, has highest IQ(floor general) and is doing it in a tougher conference than all those guys.
TPercy @ 1/28/2015 11:01 PM
Don't get me wrong, they are all great players but I think Grant's maturity and understanding of the game is superior to them.
