Smith, Thomas and Galloway have made a difference.

They can stay.

CrushAlot @ 1/24/2015 8:52 AM
Also Lou who Smith gave credit to last night. Learners

I knew it was too good to be true. Melo and Fisher fall into the ny fan pressure to win now. Thanks to all the paper bag fans. You can now take your bag off and watch Philly get OK4.

No one said that changing the culture of a franchise would be easy or simplistic.

If you are willing to invest that culture change in the prospect of an unproven rookie, remember that Patrick Ewing was heralded as The Messiah, and he never won a ring.

Think about that a moment.

Win or lose now these knicks are playing ball the right way and that's all you ever ask. Talent wise we ate still a lottery team cuz we have too much ground to make up....but we are again playing like a professional ball club.
gunsnewing @ 1/24/2015 11:15 AM
You gotta like what you are seeing Eventhough it's against the worst of the East. Lose to the good team but at least be professional and competitive. Establish a culture of smart and hard play

It is just revitalizing to watch the Knicks finally play smart basketball. I see guys setting picks, moving without the ball, attacking the rims once the ball is released, swarming on defense, and finally taking care of the perimeter. I don't know what Phil told Fisher, but you can tell that he has abandoned his terrible idea to give up perimeter shots while packing the paint.

This. I am looking forward to watching these guys again tonight.

I pray that we bring in a big that can rebound and help protect the paint. With the back court now better, we have to use the same approach to better the front court.

This win streak has been like a kick in the nads. Everything was going so well in Knickland. Images of Spurs drafting Tim D. And the Heat drafting Wade started to form in my head. And now this? Yea playing the right way is great and refreshing to see, but why win the game? This three game streak now brings up memories of Stephen Curry going to GS , just one pick before us. This is how to frustrate the fans. If we have a plan we need to execute it, period.
ramtour420 @ 1/24/2015 11:37 AM
Oh and while on the topic, not only do we need to win as many games as we can this season, but Melo should play 48 minutes a game, every game! That should do it. :sarcasm off:
Knicks1969 @ 1/24/2015 11:44 AM
What is our record again?? We r still a lottery team folks. The wins are simply to help Fisher recruit. He was looking horrible early on. JR and Shump were making him look bad. I think he improved a little as a coach the last couple of games.

Fisher never actually told his players to just ignore the 3. If you watch the defensive drills they practiced in the summer it was important for players to close out with proper technique. When you have players that are willing to exert themselves on D and get out to shooters and rotate with gusto then you won't have wide open shooters with no one contesting shots. The additions of more active guys like Galloway, Thomas and Amundson just makes for a better defensive effort.

There's no way in HELL that Phil, Rambis or Cleamons would ever coach defense where they just give up open shots. People just misunderstood their statements on the matter. I can assure you that they weren't just teaching players to allow open shots.

We need the losses more than wins. These are stupid wins which basically making it more difficult in the long run. I have this sinking feeling in my gut that says we will be picking 6-7 by the time it all said and done.

I think the Knicks will continue to play hard and win some but I think their success in the win column won't be much. I just saw that Melo is questionable for tonight's game (recovery day). I also think he shuts it down a week or two after the all star game and has surgery.
StarksEwing1 @ 1/24/2015 12:34 PM
I like watching the kids play well especially galloway who you can tell has talent. However i still feel getting a lottery pick is too important than a few extra wins especially since we rarely have draft picks

You guys do know that there are 82 games in the season, right?

smackeddog @ 1/24/2015 1:35 PM
Compare them to some of the players that have donned this jersey in the past decade or so:

if we lost 3 more games we would have had stephen curry instead of.... jordan hill.
