Traded our entire draft in 2016 and great 2 nd round picks in 14 15 16 and 2017 for Andrea bargsand Marcus can't play. If Jim Dolan gets hate mail he needs to look in the mirror and take it like a big boy those moves among many many others are reasons why we have sckdfor 15 years. Also for not listening to the melo advice we are the team that keeps on giving from the tentacles of the trade that he orgasmedat. The Knicks and Dolan especially are Lucky that we somehow someway didn't swap this year's pick with someone and happened to suck eggs by pure accident. Nope Jimmy you have run this team like sht and to go back at a fan is a joke. You easily take the prize for biggest schmuck of an owner in all of pro sports. You know it and so does everyone else! After thinking about who the f do you think you are going back at a 70 year old fan and bringing up your own drinking habits? You dumb short foolish man go sit in the corner and look at your Isaiah Thomas signed posters somewhere and don't talk back to knicks fans because you are not 1 of them
Bonn1997 @ 2/9/2015 7:30 AM
+1. I don't think Dolan would have responded like that if it wasn't an issue he was insecure about.
Losing the 2nd round picks definitely hurts. These are basically late first round picks, which would potentially mean we're missing five 1st round picks in the next 4 years (depending how long we're bad for).
callmened @ 2/9/2015 7:34 AM
that bargnani trade was one of the dumbbest trades ive ever seen. I know there were some people defending bargnani(nixluva maybe??). but i think even hed agree this was a mistake

The advice by Donnie Walsh to sit tight. The Knicks would make money and grow in value if a monkey owned the team. If Dolan was judged on his hiring and management decisions and bottom line results vs dollar spent he would be recognized as the worst owner of all time. Knick fans who have invested 10is of thousands of$ in time and money supporting this team deserve something other than this mental midget. What Dolan should do is STFU and give paying ticket holders a huge refund back. He won't and will take advantage of us having a top pick and raise them. He's a duck and I can see why any fan would be upset with his pure stupidity. He is loyal to the $ not the knicks

GIven the amount of money the knicks have paid in taxes and otherwise, its not even that. I think he is beholden to his ego and delegation has been an issue with him. When Isiah "Rasputin" Thomas had Dolans Mojo it was an empic financial failure.

Dolan is top 5 in worst ownership in any professional sport. Kroenke in Denver is sure trying though!

Phil or not, him delegating to basketball people spoke well for him. This idiotic E-mail is dumbfounding seems legit only if someone hacked Dolans account. Otherwise its out of charactor for him. He is a paranoid little man who has shunned confrontation as well. Thats why I say its out of charactor.

Bonn1997 @ 2/9/2015 10:06 AM
Kroenke in Denver? Please explain
I'd put him in the bottom half but not remotely close to bottom 5
Knicks1969 @ 2/9/2015 10:09 AM
Have you heard? Bargnani has been made ready to play tonight::::))))

I think Dolan is the type of person that throws money at problems. There are certainly people out there that think this way......that true quality is based on the amount you spend. Sometimes it works out....but as a NBA Franchise owner with a convoluted and restrictive cap structure in place, more often than not....it will be the teams looking for, understanding and applying value that will be successful more often in the long term.

MS @ 2/9/2015 11:44 AM
there is a reason we have been the worst team in basketball over the past 15 years.

a player a team doesn't want and is buying out, we sweep in and give up assets.

dolan only vetod the trade that would have giving the team an allstar point guard for the next five years. ironic

exactly, if hiring phil jacksons was his best move to date(base on fans and media), so far thats turning into something far worse than hiring IT and trading 1st round picks for a living

because it's obviously smart to evaluate and make declarations about someone rebuilding a franchise 9months into their efforts.

A bit of Dolanesque move.......Josh (son of Stan) takes over the Nuggests and lets Ujari walk.
The whole dysfunction that squandered the assets recieved, letting Karl run the team into the ground and let a great young GM leave all sound familar?

Brian Shaw Won't survive this. I think they don't even try to run the triangle anymore. They just seem like a damn mess.

Well for starters his initial plan failed miserably, so his fall back plan now is to rebuild. He couldn't trade any of the players on this roster for anything worth while, even with expiring contracts. Essentially anyone on this board could have done the same thing he did without a drop of experience.

Trade tyson to a team that wanted him anyway
Drafting early, who look like he isn't close to being NBA material yet
hiring fisher who had no other offers from anyone
trading shump and JR or pocket change and a late 2nd rnd pick

IT wasn't a bad hire until his moves started back firing, just like phil grabbed calderon in the trade hoping he was a better option then felton, IT thought curry, crawford, penny, steph where better talent than , Doleac, shannan, eisly and some 1st picks.

A GM/prez is as good as his team, especially when your moves are a reflection of the teams record

in my opinion his only bad move was taking calderons contract. I agree dallas wanted tyson BUT his value was very low because of his poor play so we couldnt get too much

we have been making horrible moves since we signed Allan Houston, LJ, and chris Child and that was 1997. Even walsh who traded away all stars for cap relief, made bad moves.

None of the previous GM/Prez to take over the franchise, had started out with the worst record in the history of the franchise..not layden, not IT, not walsh..Phil has essentially put us at rock bottom

When the boss says to clean contracts to make room for lebron. You do the best you can.
Walsh, Grunwald I believe were taking orders from the boss.

Calderon played very well last season on a good team. He is playing liks shyt ona bad team. 7mm is not an awful contract either.
He is not makin or breaking team.

when/if the boss tells you to give up a #1 pick for Bargs, you quit or hang yourself.

I agree. Also, Grunwald traded one first round pick during his tenure. That pick had already been compromised in the Melo trade with Denver having the right to swap. Compare his record of trading picks with his predecessors. Grunwald shouldn't be in the title in my opinion.
