but what IF we are in position 5 or 6? Who do you take?

At pick #5 its become a no brainer for me--although the risk moves up substantially IMHO after pick 4 there is no doubt in my mind i would take Kristaps Porzingis next. I have not sen another athlete like him--he is NO "standard" European type player in any sense and has excellent athletic ability with very long arms(wingspan 7-7?) who can handle the ball has a nice touch on his shot and plays both ends. His upside is as high as anyone in the draft. I would have to have a doctor look at him and guarantee that he can put on a natural 20 pounds and stay what he is or even better.

Pick # 6 Bobby Portis One of the more under rated players who plays both ends and has been a consistent double double @ 6-11 245. He is a combination of Chris Bosh and Jermaine Oneal--hes going to be a good player. I would also listen intently on trades/trade downs etc..

Keeping the last overall position lets us AVOID this possible scenario. But it is a scenario

Myles Turner. Big size and length, great shooting touch for a guy that big (surprisingly even on the FT line) and he protects the rim. Keep hearing about Okafor/Towns as the two best bigs but watch out for this guy. All I'm saying...Very intriguing.

I would trade that pick to a team with multiple first rounders

assume it's russell, towns, ok4 and johnson in the top 4... i would have to probably pick between mudiay and delon wright... with slight edge to mudiay... wright doesn't get the respect he deserves in a lot of mocks... dude was ready last year...

after the top 4 and the pgs... it gets murky with alot of flawed prospects and i just don't want to even think about the possibility of going from towns/russell to... porzingis... yuck..

My outside the top 4 pick would be WCS. I think Stein could totally change this team defensive presence. He's an even better version of Tyson IMO. His freakish lateral quickness and agility is unreal. He could anchor this team for years to come defensively and still be decent enough offensively to make it work.

Yeah, I agree with those who'd take Stein. He's already ready to impact the game on the defensive end. Porzingas is going to take a few years just to settle into a position.

Im thinking now Stein has bust potential. But hopefully you are right about him. At the beginning of the season I was high on him too but I kept watching and lost interest in his game.

Better plan: TANK this muffugin season and be guaranteed a top 4. Anything else is a waste of a season. Sit Melo's ass in a seat starting in game 1 after the AS break. Let Stat leave if he wants to go to a contender. Play the yoots the rest of the way to develop their games. We don't want wins, but we do want player development.

Reboot on draft day. That's the plan, sticking with it 100%.

I think Turner might have just as much potential to impact the game defensively as Willie Cauley-Stein (similar rebounding potential as well) but then has so much more potential on the offensive side. A guy like Towns' jumper may be flukey and something that's never fully realized -- this guy Turner's jump-shooting is for real and very rare for someone that big. Dude's even money at the FT line, another rarity for a player that approaches 7 feet, a college freshman no less. Every time I see him taking a jumper, the first guy that pops into my mind--Kevin Durant. Not the overall game obviously, just talking the ability to shoot from anywhere at that size (this guy's more of a truer 4/5 man whereas KD's a SF with crazy size and skills. Different players but that J might wind up being just as pure. Turner should be able to hit the ground running with that jumper as a real weapon in the NBA starting day 1...Also, I don't think Turner's nearly as bad an athletic as he's being made out to be by some. I think he moves around and gets off the floor just fine--comparable to most bigs his size. His overall game needs refinement but so does every other player in this draft's lottery, even Okafor. 6'11"+ 245 and may not even be done growing yet. Very real possibility that we may be looking at closer to 7' 250+ before it's all said and done. Speaking of Okafor, Turner gave him all he could handle in the 2014 McDonald's all-American game the few mins they were matched up against one another. I remember him hitting a straight-away 3 in that game several feet behind the arc like it way nothing. I like this kid Turner a lot.

I'm going to bet nba types end up w prozingis in their top 3. At the end of the day they weigh upside over almost anything.Someone is going to love him

2 more plus intangibles for Myles Turner btw -- (1) he plays real hard out there. You get the feeling that no matter how it goes, whether he's having an off-night, in foul trouble (as he was right from early on in the 1st half in a matchup against Kentucky's whole frontline early December--DX has an entire video up on youtube criticizing him about his poor play in that game that I thought was a little over the top -- let me see a rematch of Turner against these guys a couple of months later in his gym this time), etc., this kid will remain fully engaged and into it, pumping his fists, etc.. You gotta like that. He's into it and he definitely cares.. And (2) he's a very well-spoken young man. I've read that and it's 100% true. Seen several interviews with him and he's impressive. This aspect will definitely score him some points with teams when the time comes. Whoever takes him won't be taking someone's who's moody, immature etc. This kid's mature beyond his years. I could see Phil Jackson falling in love with this guy, the player and the man.

That would be wasting his talent ... I hope he is not stunted like that

That's only because you've seen Stein play for a while. Everyone likes the new shiny toy. That's why quality three or four year college players get overlooked each year for younger guys with more "upside."

My hope is to see Stein in a Knicks uniform. My dream is to see the Knicks draft Russel with the top pick.

Myles turner the true enigma of this draft I've seen Texas play 3 times including uconn and the only thing I noticed about him is an awkward running gait and that he is long. He has great form but also has trouble getting shots off in a clean fashion he is truly a potential boom bust guy. He needs more ncaa time and I doubt he contributes in the nba next year if he comes out
