Knicks · Bucks have begun buyout negotiations with Larry Sanders (page 2)

To be honest he reminds me of that Raptors centre, who IT was interested in signing to the Knicks, but then went AOL. Think he ended up walking away from the game and just smoking weed. Can't remember his name now. Fair enough, if a players heart isn't in it anymore and they've made their money, I'd rather they walked away rather than just mail it in- hope he finds something more fulfilling. I think I take issue with the fact he'll get most of his money for doing nothing though!
BRIGGS @ 2/16/2015 3:11 PM
Im not worried about this--hes not coming here--he has 20 destinations before he comes here even for 1mm.
gunsnewing @ 2/16/2015 3:18 PM
How is he as a passer? How is his basketball IQ?

Keon Clark?

Thats the one! Thanks!

Yikes, didn't realise it ended like this for him:

And this:

At a hearing, Clark admitted that he was a recovering alcoholic who had been drinking for most of the time since high school. He added that he "never played a game sober" during his NBA career, and usually drank during halftime

Wow. I didn't either.

9:51am: A buyout deal is “all but done” and is soon to become official, Stein reports (on Twitter).

WEDNESDAY, 8:43am: It’s unlikely that Sanders plays again this season as he continues to deal with personal issues, according to Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher.

We might have a chance at him since playoff teams will likely not be interested. I'm willing to take the risk on a defensive talent like Sanders. He will look great next to ok4 or towns next year

doesn't he no longer have interest in playing NBA basketball? i don't think he enjoys it.

Ouch 27mm left on the table for playing basketball for a few years--unreal.

Oh so he is the nba's version of Ricky Williams. I see

When the buyout process started he said everyone would know the truth soon. Hopefully there is some clarification on why things went so bad.

Did him and kidd have some kind of fall out?

This knocks out any possibility that Knight could be had in FA--imho Drgaic and Knight are off the table .

I don't know but Kidd has had a lot of relationships not end well. If Sanders just needs a change maybe this works out ok for him.

Which is fine. Now we can focus on fixing SG & PF/C since that's what you need in the triangle. There are plenty of good defensive PGs out there who like to move the ball for cheap

10:38am: Sanders didn’t want to report to the Bucks following the end of his suspension, thus giving the Bucks leverage to extract as much as they did in the buyout, a source tells Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders (Twitter links). It’s unlikely Sanders will sign with another team this season, Kennedy’s source adds and as Kyler also tweets, which makes sense, given that it appears he won’t return to the court in 2014/15.

Too much going on here. Plus his passing and finishing ability around the rim is suspect. I hope he gets it together, but NY isn't the right environment for him.
holfresh @ 2/18/2015 1:43 PM
The desire to play trumps everything if true...Dude has no will power over weed and willing to give up 27 mil...Wow..
earthmansurfer @ 2/18/2015 2:32 PM
Holy cow, I just saw that holfresh, I never heard of so much left on the table. Got to admit, huge red flag.
Must be something serious going on there. Cannabis I'm not worried about, will probably be legal in all States soon enough, YEAH!!!
