Dumb franchise..... let's see who they get. Probably going to trade for another point guard freaking jackasses
Knicks1969 @ 2/17/2015 10:30 PM
No Dragic in NY please. If we trade for that dude, we will miss out on Russell

The Knicks don't have much but Dragic certainly put the suns in a compromised position. Not sure the Knicks could get him but I think Phil has to try.

He already played there. I know Lowry didn't get see eye to eye with McHale. Maybe Dragic felt the same way. Also, it sounds like he wants to run his own team. The rockets are Hardens team.

FistOfOakley @ 2/17/2015 11:18 PM
he's just so much better on a screen and roll team... and we're.. triangle...

pretty sure he's looking to goto either the lakers or ny to get his contract now... he knows we're both desperate...

He can get a five year deal.

If he wants NY he could wait and sign in the offseason so he doesnt fleece the franchise of talent. He would lose the 5th year but at least he would know the parameters of the current cba.
FistOfOakley @ 2/17/2015 11:35 PM
we already signed melo to the 5 year contract... so we can only offer anyone else 4.... same with the lakers..

Knicks need to include Calderon in this trade if they go for DragicApparently now.

I do not believe Dragic is worth 4 yrs 80M as the articles quote. Honestly, his numbers this season are quite blah. I understand timesharing with Bledsoe and Thomas isn't helping him, but I wouldn't want to pay max dollars for a guy one season removed from max dollars. I'd let the Lakers fall on this sword. Not for me. Pass-aroo. Not sure if there is a dollar amount that he would accept that I would want to pay.

Why would we miss out on Russell he's a shooting guard... A back court of drogic and Russell would be deadly... Pair that with say Melo and Monroe or move melo back to the 4 and sign Harris for less and still have $$ for a center... Drogic is a top pg in the NBA and even though he's 28 -29... pg's last the longest in the NBA

Drogic,Galloway,Pablo
Russell,Greek,Galloway
Melo,Early,Lance Thomas
Monroe,smith,Lance Thomas
Andrew Bynum?,mason plumlee, Lou

Dragic, Plumlee, and a 2nd rounder this year for Calderon, Hardaway, and the 2018 pick.

Key for me is getting Dragic's bird rights. You would be able to to use that $30 mil and still keep Dragic after you make extra signings.

Draft Jahlil or Cauley-Stein, still sign one maybe 2 from Butler and Aldridge/Gasol. Still be able to go over the cap for Dragic.

Melo is 30 or so. His window is small so unless you are trading him you have to maximize his window. Butler is still young, Dragic and Aldridge/Gasol are still in their late 20's.

Dragic is more of a pick and roll guy but I think his ability to swing to the 2 and the fact he is a better version of Calderon, who fill wanted to run his offense may go in his favor, although I admit, Dragic has little similarities to PG's that made the triangle excel in the past, like Ron Harper, BJ Armstrong, Derek Fisher...tto me it is more about a loophole to maybe get an extra player with that money.

He probably sees Harden as a bigger better Bledsoe which will lead to him not being the main PG. I think he could still work in Houston and see them and the Lakers as his best fit. Now, if the Knicks are willing to increase the PnR game like that have been doing then Dragic would look good.

If the Knicks do decide to go after Dragic while dumping/cutting Calderon they will have his bird rights which will help them add more FAs in the off season. Dragic cap hold is around $11.25M. Calderon leaving is a must to have the best FA season.

Then again Dragic is not coming to NY.

We run the triangle yes but fish incorporated the pick and role in the triangle

Also no way dose phx trade drogic to Lakers a division rival ... If anything it's ny or Miami far away from phx so it dose not bite them in the ass by helping the lakers solidify there pg position for years to come.. Phx might be dumb but their not that dumb.

The PnR was always a part of the Triangle. People just don't understand the offense. The more talented the PG the more he can do within the offense. However, if your PG is limited the offense still works. There have been TONS of opportunities for our PG's to drive but they aren't good at it and thus you would think it's the offense but it's not. The PnR is available on every possession since the Pinch post is the weak side 2 man game. Dragic should be just fine on this team. I'm just not sure we can give PHX a package they'd prefer over what Miami could give. We'll see.
