Knicks · Dolan Has Ruined This Franchise - It May Not Recover For A Decade (page 6)
StraightShot - your comments resonate with the crystal clear tone of corporate propaganda, sanitized for our protection. What about the loyal fans who have "hung in there" for the past four decades?
How soon will we who support the Knicks be "well rewarded" (as you promise) for patience during years of trial and error under this ownership?
StraightShot wrote:misterearl wrote:Can We Have That Notarized?StraightShot wrote:so, yes I absolutely believe Phil will stay for his entire contract, and we'll have a championship team before he leaves. If the New York Knicks are NBA Champions within five years, Phil Jackson will have a bust on Mount Rushmore.
StraightShot - how long have you been on the payroll?
Lol. I'm not on the payroll. I just want to get out the good news that they're turning this thing around. Loyal fans who hang in there this year will be well rewarded in coming years.
I mostly agree with you, but you 100% sound like someone that works for MSG and/or Dolan.
They will get better along with Melo getting more and more irrelevant and Dolan more and more remote.
There is nothing of interest for Dolan in 10-win team... He broke his toy and it is in garbage can.
Rangers toy was broken faster and was in garbage can in 2004... it took 6-7 years for club to contend and have fans exited.
The hope died last...
So now we have a bunch of prospects under development and getting a tryout. We have our own 1st rd. pick in a good year and with a good chance to land a top pick. We have cap space to sign some starting talent. Phil has been trying to replenish our draft picks and has added 6 since he's been here.
2014 Draft Picks Added - 34th, 51st and 57th
2017 Draft Picks Added - One 2nd Rd. Pick
2019 Draft Picks Added - Two End Rd. Picks
This is not a terrible situation. This is what it's gonna look like when you flush a roster and try to rebuild it.

1st of all people HAVE BEEN SAYING WE'RE SCREWED. The damned title of this thread is saying the franchise is ruined and we may not recover for a decade. THAT'S SAYING WE'RE SCREWED. I could go and search all the statements on this forum but I don't have to cuz i'm not wrong about this.
2nd - don't throw that BS in my face about Bargs and Jose. Bargs just started playing and Jose was set back by his injury on top of the fact that other players we were depending on didn't buy in or couldn't figure out the Triangle. So much went wrong that it's utter nonsense to go off about 1 or 2 guys. That's not important at this point and it's not going to embarrass me into not speaking some damn sense into this forum. The important thing is that we flushed the guys who didn't want to buy in and we're starting over with guys who do want to be here and who want to buy in. If a player can't excel in this system they won't be back.
3rd - not everyone is just being cautious. If caution was all everyone was expressing no one would be having a real issue with that. Also in truth NO ONE has said everything is going to work out perfectly. I and others have qualified our statements with the fact that nothing is guaranteed. However, there's a lot of things that are going on which are an improvement for this franchise. We've stated those things over and over and yet they're being totally diminished or ignored.
We've highlighted the fact that for once we have a franchise that is totally in sync. We have one vision from top to bottom, D League to NBA, Scouts and all. Everyone is working to maximize this culture and system. We have a draft pick and cap space in order to start the process of rebuilding this roster. That's all we need to know about this franchise at this point. We have to wait for the season to end in order to start to bring in those new players in addition to continuing to develop the talent we have.

Nix is right on with point 3. You just posted that some people are afraid to criticize the Knicks. The Knicks suck this year. Maybe Phil was too passionate about moving out the collective pile of sh@t thAt was here but Tyson, Felton, Shumpert, and JR needed to go. The best thing about what is happening now is that mistakes made were recognized and the organization has moved on. When Walsh made a mistake he did everything he could to try and prove it wasn't a mistake. Dantoni and Bender are great examples. The Knicks didn't trade their lottery pick and a top 3 protected pick to move Calderon like Walsh did with Jeffries. This is a rebuild. The only guy Dolan respected enough to give the power to this was Phil. Guys can add years onto his age and call it a money grab but no one else was going to be given total control like Phil. The Knicks are rebuilding. Maximizing the only first round pick they have in a 3 year span makes sense. Trading guys for second round picks makes sense when they aren't a part of the future. The Knicks have cap space, a star player, and a lottery pick. They have added second round picks and are making nice gains in their use of the d league. Things are looking up. The organization has a developmental program, isn't trading picks or chasing stars (at the deadline), and is attempting to restock the assets moved out by previous gms.

THANK YOU!!! Is this too much to ask for people to actually pay attention to what is really happening? It's early in the process so right now nothing big jumps out, but when you look at the development of a player like Galloway, that is a small example of what is going on. Hopefully in time we can develop and find more players like Galloway. For a change the franchise is being smart under Phil.
We can either obsess over how things unfolded at the start of this year of live in the present and acknowledge what has taken place since then. We're on a new path now and for once it's a logical and smart path. We've gotta give it a chance.

I also think decade is pessimistic but 4-5 years is optimistic.
Not title of course but club which can get into playoffs and be capable of advancing is plausible.
At least there is hope that organization will not be a clown show.
The drawback is we will be darn boring as Spurs or something. Not everybody likes this.
Baby steps...
Langston Galloway is a player gaining valuable experience in a vacuum. He has demonstrated some valuable traits in a brief cameo. There is no scouting report on him and he is an unknown to other teams. Langston Galloway is auditioning. He is not an answer to breaking down John Wall or any elite NBA guard.

Actually, we have a lot of guys who could do well in the NBDL right now. Some of the rest I think could do a lot of damage against high school athletes.

When he went undrafted they signed him to their summer league squad. He was invited to camp and was one of the players the Knicks protected from the d league draft. He played well in Westchester and was brought up and has done well as a Knick. Not sure what is wrong with finding a positive here. Posters champion a guy like Daryl Morey, a guy who's organization does a brilliant job of developing guys on their d league affiliate team, but when the Knicks use the developmental process correctly it is an indication that they have 'fallen'. There is plenty to criticize if that is what you want to do but the Knicks got this one right.Langston Galloway is a player gaining valuable experience in a vacuum.
