Knicks · what would u do with pick #1 (page 1)

gunsnewing @ 2/22/2015 2:24 AM
Hmmmmmmmm let me think about this one

Ok got it
Towns

mreinman @ 2/22/2015 3:04 AM
I would pass on duncan and take towns

many of us have not done daily flip flops and have said towns all along.

gunsnewing @ 2/22/2015 3:14 AM
No one takes us seriously apparently. All you heard was Towns has no motor, is lazy and doesn't have the will to play basketball. Then you heard people make a huge deal out of hardass Calipari benching The 19yr old Towns one game to get him refocused.

He's been on a tear since then just like I thought he would as he gains more experience playing high level basketball. Can't wait to see him distinguish himself as Kentucky's go to guy heading into the tourney.

If we don't get the #1 pick and draft Towns I will lock myself in my room for a month and cry my eyes out in pain. Ultimately I will be alright with Ok4but man I don't think his game will translate as well as Towns in the NBA. These PF's are quick, strong, athletic and can step out and hit 20 footers

VCoug @ 2/22/2015 8:52 AM
I'm all about Towns. I envision him as a more athletic, better rebounding Marc Gasol. I'm ok with One for and would understand why we would draft him but would be disappointed. I like Russell but there are a million decent point guards available any given year. Want nothing to do with Mudiay. If we trade the pick, unless we're getting back LeBron, Durant, or Anthony Davis I'll be fucking livid.
franco12 @ 2/22/2015 9:02 AM
I don't think I would trade down from 1 - if we get pushed down to perhaps 4 or 5, then it might make sense to see if the Celtics or someone else is willing to move up and trade picks.

I hope we don't have to be in that position.

In fact, I have to imagine that if we drop out, Knick fans will be crushed.

This is one year that Silver should just give the Knicks the top pick - not because our owner deserves it, but because the fans do.

In fact, since he can't get rid of Dolan, its the least Silver should do.

Hector @ 2/22/2015 9:13 AM
I'd trade it for David Lee, 2 number ones & a number 2.

Just kidding, BRIGGS!!!

Actually, I might do that!

Nalod @ 2/22/2015 9:21 AM
I'll sit down for 10 minutes, watch some youtube highlights, then make my pick.

But in the end I'll lament in hindsight and blame someone else.

TPercy @ 2/22/2015 9:39 AM
If we drafted Towns I would defo buy his Jersey if it said: KAT

Absolutely.

I will even change my name to gunsntowns

smackeddog @ 2/22/2015 10:45 AM
As long as we get a top 3 pick I'm happy- Russell, Towns and OK4, all promising. Knowing our luck we'll end up with the 4th pick!

Actually rumours are that the Sixers like Mudiay, which would mean you could still have a shot at those 3 with the 4th pick.

I don't believe they like Mudiay. They just traded away an extremely talented PG who can't shoot, why would they take another one?

Unless, they are drafting him to trade him in a year.

Sounds like a good plan- are you going to say which one we should pick, and then 6 months later pretend that you didn't and blast the decision as being an obvious mistake, or do you think you will keep quiet about who you'd take, so you can then blast the mistake hindsight reveals, without having to worry about being exposed? Both strategies are welcome on ultimateknicks.com!

Ha! No, most people (including myself!) do it- you just had the misfortune of being called on it!

BRIGGS @ 2/22/2015 11:11 AM
Towns was not an obvious 1 mid way through the season. He had several non exsistant games was called out by his coach he was a top pick but clearly behind ok4 and Russell. One thing I repeatedly said that I wanted to see from towns was a flurry of game action where he shows it big time and he did pick it up quite abit the last 5 games and last night was an absolute clincher. Whoever does not have towns ranked 1 on any draft board is simply wrong right now. He's the best2 way player in the draft
Vmart @ 2/22/2015 11:15 AM
I would take OK4.
nixluva @ 2/22/2015 11:42 AM
I'd take OK4 and Russell after him, then Towns, then Mudiay. I've seen enough of OK4 to be confident in what i'm getting with him. Russell could really open up the floor with his ability to shoot from anywhere. 4th i'd go for Mudiay and hope that he's the kind of Kobe like talent this offense needs to create when there's nothing there.
smackeddog @ 2/22/2015 11:45 AM
It's kind of like the original OK4 and Dwight Howard draft debate- OK4 was deemed the safe, ready pick, Dwight had bigger upside and risk.

I like Mudiay higher than Russell.

I can understand that. Mudiay has that X Factor in his athletic ability. Both should be very effective pros IMO. We could certainly use either one to be honest.
