We got them because Woodson likes having vets. D'antoni wasn't relying on 40 yr olds and he originally had the team Woodson inherited.

Yeah, I'd have to say something close to this. As much as I think Woodson is garbage, it did help him to have a GM that was on the same page as him. Once Grunwald was let go, there was a severe disconnect that surely effected him. The year before that when they were on the same page we had a 54 win team.
Woodson was garbage???.The guy went 18-6 then won 54 games??..Hoe is that garbage??
Holfresh, we've done this before and it's just obvious we're not going to agree when it comes to Woodson and there's no problem with that.

Do you think Woodson was given a fair shot, I don't ??..And how do you know Woodson could not have done well when he never got a chance??..Woodson faith was decided the December after winning 54 games..No one here ever imagine he could have gone 18-6 then 54 win...How on god's earth do you know what the outcome could be if he had support of management and given a fair chance??..Fact is we don't know...After losing for over a decade, how do we not give the guy a shot??

I don't think he win (as in win a title). I just acknowledge that it was helpful for him to have Grunwald getting him the players he needed the same way that I don't think D'antoni can win a title but acknowledge that this organization did nothing to get him the PG he needed for his system.

54 win team made up of 4 key 40year olds
That were acquired through the process of Woodson and Grunwald working together which is what I'm saying.
Don't forget Donnie Walsh. Can't leave him out of this mess. Limited foresight.

You guys are comedians, right?
Losing Solomon Jones probably played a big role too
This was always going to be a transitional year. We have a new GM with unprecedented powers, and a new coach. There were bound to be some growing pains. Were we too optimistic for the current year? Yes. But the point is that change is in the air and the new system is going to be awesome once it becomes ingrained. It's really important that we stay the course, remain loyal, and have faith in Jim and Phil.

Naw, haha. I just appreciate the man. He overcame alcohol, he has a nice family, and he's a loyal guy. Besides which he has a great band - JD and the Straight Shot!
Most of all he really loves this Knicks franchise and is committed to being championships again.

thats nice, and Im sure Jim has plenty of good personal traits you would know better than us. Its nice that Phil has unprecedented but he's taking over a team so totally bankrupt and maligned the concern is its just not going to be enough.
Loyalty... that can be good and bad. One of the big problems folks have is Jim's loyalty to Isiah, someone who is a really bad guy. From the way Chaney was fired to the Brown sex lawsuit Jim's loyalty isnt really something to tout around these parts.
I (we) ALL hope your right and this gets turned around. Sadly there are a lot more reasons for doubt than for hope. Jim has a lot of bad bad times to make up for.

Ummmm, StraightShot, either start using the sarcasm smilie, or please stay away from Splat. He may start IP tracing your posts. Then you'd have to move or start posting from random libraries and Barnes and Nobles...
And can you tell us exactly what you're getting paid to be a "MSG board plant"? Some of us really need the extra income.

Im pretty sure he's one of Dolan's bandmates
How and why we dropped from that championship contending 54 win powerhouse?
1. out of the gate we scortched the earth.
2. JKidds last gasp.
3. RashWeed Wallace had a great 20 games.
4. DPOTY!!!! TheraFlueTyson!!!
Then we basically fell into mediocrity with the exception of a late run when Melo carried the team a few weeks. JR smith was SPOTY!!!
Then he started partying again and was caught on camera staring at Rianna's ass. Can't blame him.
Then he checked out mentally and we barely got thru 1st round after the knicks smart idea of "funeral" for the celtics. We then lost to Indy in the second round.
We had a few good weeks early. Dirty Kurt sacificed his ankle for us in a key game. It was held together by gauze, band aids and veteren Grit.
since then how many players we draft? Cap space for free agents? No basis to improve than trade another pick for the Angry Lowrey but lets be real, he is surrounded by a pretty good team in Toronto and no media beating him up.
Maybe we keep Tyson, have unhealthy Bargnani and bad Knee Melo with him. Sorry, thats a 35 win team.
Instead we keep a future asset and have a great chance to have a top 4 franchise changing talent from the draft and good cap space.
we suck. At least we finally are cleaning it out. Not easy. Im sure all fans of bad teams feel like we do.

Haha, no but I do dig the band. If you want to understand Jim, listen to JD and The Straight Shot. The name "Straight Shot" is very deep in this case, with a few different very personal meanings for Jim. Check JD and the Straight Shot out on their web site at http://www.thestraightshotmusic.com/ or their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/jdandthestraightshot.
From wikipedia:
JD & The Straight Shot have toured alongside The Eagles, The Allman Brothers Band, and Robert Randolph. Members of the Straight Shot also tour with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Their song "Can't Make Tears" is the theme song for Cablevision-owned AMC's TV show Hell on Wheels. Their music has been featured in films as well, including Hurricane Season.
hey jim, do you think you can hook us up with some tickets? id even goto a game this year... alot of devout fans here and we've went as a group before.

I think it's cool that JD stops in from time to time share his thoughts on the team and give fans updates on his bands touring schedule. A lot healthier than lashing out at random fans on e-mail.
What's the name of the group's violin player?
Since the Prigioni trade, Melo is the last remaining member from the 54-win squad.
