Actually, I do think the totally pissed types like myself are honest with themselves. I'm no longer a Knicks fan, but I still feel anger over having that feeling beaten out of me by Dolan. I do resent the man and what he did to the Knicks.

Once I figured out very quickly in training camp this was going to be a total mutt of a roster and it would not work out this year, I still had some expectation Phil's presence would matter. I still felt that tanking would help us and a top pick would matter.

But that also has changed. I think Phil sold out for money. He never had real autonomy for the things that really did matter and for the things he did have control over he has proven to be simply awful. Jackson is a terrible GM and it was a mistake.

Now I will freely admit I've entered the schadenfreude phase where I wish nothing well on this franchise. I resent Dolan and want him to suffer so he has to sell the team and then maybe I can be a fan again. Until then, rooting for the Knicks is complete BS. It is rooting for Dolan to succeed when the only sane outlook IMO is to root for the team to fail so horribly he has to sell the team.

So in a perverse way there is still hope, but it is not the kind 95% of Knicks followers hold. I hope for total humiliation of the franchise so it can really change. I truly believe anything else is like drinking pizz with your milk. Rooting for the Knicks with Dolan as the owner is just vile and toxic. He needs to humiliated out of this ownership. If fans actually were "honest" with themselves they would stop being totally schizoid beings who think they're rooting for a team. Supporting the Knicks now is rooting for Dolan's corporation and his financial prosperity.

Changing the Knicks requres the nuclear option. Everything else has failed. At this point, playing nice is for suckers. Dolan has lots of suckers left to feed off. He's a vampire and you're all food. But people are timid and don't stand up and want things to change. They'll settle for mediocrity and call that being a fan. The Knicks fan base is mostly spineless and pathetic.

Splat Im a big Knicks fan and I dont associate anything positive with Dolan. 90% of knowledgeable Knicks fans understand Dolan is just God awful. That he has the gall to email a 75 year old fan back and go on what appears to be a drunken(or chemically induced )tirade of his own speaks loud. Its well-documented hes the worst owner is sports franchise history. As a Knicks fan you have to look beyond Dolan like Rangers fans did. The Knicks can be good again and as a 46 year old guy with a lot of miles on me--my hope is they can be smart here over the next 12 months aggressive and savvy. Its an IMPORTANT time for the Knicks for the next 5 years. I DO NOT want to see us hand out max contracts to a Rajon Rondo and Greg Monroe for example. I dont want to blow my load here. I want to be savvy and aggressive at the draft and then follow on into trades free agency and acquiring 4ward-looking assets.
Phil has a good chance here to do something special --I mean the stars are aligned up AND I think we have two #1 type picks instead of 1 and then many good players into the lottery and even beyond(its not okafor or bust etc.) Ive already rooted for the Knicks to lose for change its been years of it. At this point I think the "basketball Gods' will shine something down on the Knicks--not because of their idiotic owner but because there are more important people--the fans.

I bleed orange and blue.....i havent stopped bleeding since ewing was traded. But this is the first time we've had agm and a coach with championship success and dollan giving up his gm role. Dolan is jist the owner sitting back for the first time....allowing his gm to run the team. First time i can remember having thus much cap space and a high draft pick. So it's actually exciting. My issue has always been the fans who continue to put pressure on knick management to win now. Case in point...listen to all the boos at the garden. Knick fans dont know how to tank.....but tanking is needed in a cap system.

I just wish we started this process 10 years ago.....instead of trying sell picks for over the top vets past their prime. I think its great to have an owner who will cut the check. He just needs a gm he can trust. Someone who knows basketball.....next up Phil Jackson.

it isn't just the cap alone it's the cap in combination with guaranteed money. it's a logical disconnect and the knicks are way behind the curve in knowing how to address it, especially older gents like phil jackson.

in an utterly fantastic and morbidly fascinating display of public mirroring phil jackson has exhibited the same hubris and greed as carmelo anthony. and yes blkexec it all still goes back to dolan.

Dude that's ridiculous. Phil hadn't been here a year yet. He inherent ed a team that won 54 games then gave up the following year. We had a team of losers. He got rid if them and now we are building from scratch. Wtf do you expect to happen right now?

Even if the group bought in and they were a playoff team with a sub .500 record.... how does that help us next year especially when we aren't resigning any of the guys we traded away?

At least we're in full tank and going for that #1 pick... and we cleared more cap. So i dunno how anyone can bash Phil so much....we've hand Scott Layden and Isiah thomas eras.... Phil hasn't even really begun his era yet.

Nalod @ 2/24/2015 8:46 AM
Gee, its not going well so it will never go well.
IF you think Phil was suppose to be some mystical god then you got starphuched into an expectation and now that its not possible to pull a miracle he must be old, incompetent and since many of you are intimate with his thinking, must be stupid.

fact is the coach and the system he wants was put in and the players were found not capable of running it. Im sure some of you think that phil ruined their value. While one cannot rule out that there were rumored trades that we would not be privy to the details of that might have been better, that was under a different regime. Once the season started they were found wanting.

At this moment going forward is all I care about. Nothing can be changed from the past.

BTW, I read Phils tweets might have been directed to JR or shump.

Even if its directed at knicks, I find it totally refreshing if it was. He publicly used to call out Kobe and while Kobe hated it motivated him!!!! He just admitted this in the last week.

Bottom line, Phil is a competitive dickhead sometimes and very smart. But he is ours now.

Phil is similar to Kobe....who's similar to Jordan. They tell it like it is.....And if you can't handle the truth from within, then you're not strong enough to handle the distractions during this road to a championship. Hopefully, Phil will start surrounding himself with players and coaches that have thick skin. Players and coaches that don't fold up when they hear his comments, but rather push forward. That's called changing the culture from the inside out.

Similar to how you remove mold.....You have to cut down the wall, including some of the non infected parts of the wall. Then replace it with a new wall that's built to minimize future mold. Right now, Phil is removing as much mold as possible. Next year, he will start building new walls. But meanwhile, the room looks ugly.....Lots of holes everywhere. It's not a pretty site. And if anybody can understand this analogy, this is how the team looks right now. New walls are coming next season! Hopefully the new walls will have mold (JR, Felton, Tyson, etc...) resistance built in.

Briggs, I hope you get what you want. Really. I have no bone to pick with fans who concede what the reality is and wish to stick it out and hope things align.

You could get lucky. It happens. Usually to the prepared, but sometimes even losers hit the lottery and pull themselves together. But most lottery winners spend their money and go broke again.

I don't hold out hope as you do, because I've turned against Phil as you can already see. I feel he compromised himself and cashed in on his star power to get paid by Dolan the ultimate star phucker. The karma of this will permeate the franchise and I have zero expectations it can turn out well now.

But it is never impossible. Even Donald Sterling finally ended up with some very good players before he got the boot. So good luck I guess. I just want to burn this thing to the ground, because I can only visualize a championship without Dolan on board.

Great post and its as simple as the bold.

I also believe this is the most common feeling for Knick fans. They know this got bad, but we are finally getting what fans have pined for, a GM with autonomy, time, juice and motivation.

The Top Ten Knick Hater List:

1) Mardy Collins groupies.
2) Melo killed their puppies, raped their kittens.
3) The desperate missing of Pringles and his rapier wit with the press.
4) Lin Love, and I mean, serious, deeply psychotic Lin Love.
5) Gallo, And What Might Have Become Of Our Italian Bird.
6) Moz, Look At Him Now, Just Look At Him NOW.
7) The Mayor never had that stupid smile on his face or that insipid headband.
8) Irrationally reasonable hatred of anything to do with West Baltimore
9) Dolan's a stupid rich little preeeck

And the top reason for haters everywhere:
10) 124 Million reasons...

Sorry Nalod, but we have a mystical Zenster that apparently ticks off Dolan, gets rid of mold and says whatever he wants, no matter who else it might tick off or make look bad, including his coach and players brought here by the same Zenster. I've even read that Phil just might get his jollies having people spend oceans of ink and air decoding his messages. That wry smile backed up with all that really expensive jewelry. I can see the book practically writing itself already. He out-starphucques every Knick predecessor with Melo, and then guts all the other starphucques and goes yoot hunting and trolls the NBA Thrift shop for other people's garbage. Something for everyone, except the truly despairingly negative.

Its possible. Mike has proven that he will go to bed with people as long as they provide him with interviews and inside information to help boost his ratings. And this has happened a lot more since ESPN became his main competitors. Mike doesn't care about his integrity as long as he is still "numba one"

With that said, the content of his show still wipes the floor with Kay's amateurish show
