Im just trying to get a consensus of what people think we should do. You can add more or less--take 35mm to spend if need be but include 5mm of that for the top draft pick.

Why use $35m when they only have $26m to spend and how do fans know what's realistic?
Can they get both Wesley Matthews and Paul Milsap? That would be a good off-season IMO.
1. kj mcdaniels - 5mm or gerald henderson 5mm
2. lavoy allen - 5mm
3. kostas koufous - 5mm or ajinca 5-6mm
4. cory joseph - 5mm or tobias harris 12mm-14mm
T-Rob/BB
Wes Mattews/ Kj Mcdaniels
Brandon Knight/ The Dragon
Omer Asik/ Koustas Koufus/
This is where we make or break our season next year.....Depending on how we do with FA's will determine the knicks fate.

Were going to have roughly 35mm to spend when we waive Calderon.

That would only leave them 30m when you factor in the draft pick, and empty roster holds.
Im sticking with the formula I had in a similar thread
#1 Karl Anthony towns or Okafor(4$.5mm)
#2 Alexis Anjica 4 years 18mm (4.5)
#3 Demarre Carroll 3 years 18.5mm (6mm)
#4 Rodney Stuckey 3 years 16.5mm (5.25)
#5 Kosta Koufus (3 years 10mm$) (3..25)
#6 Derrick Williams 3 years 9mm (2.75)
#7 Mo Williams 1 year 6 mm with team option (6)
#8 Lou Admundson 2 years 2mm
#9 Charlie Villenueva 1 year vet min
# 10 Shane Larkin 1 year vet minimum
--------------------------------------------
Line up
C Alexis Ajinca 7-1 245
PF Karl Towns 6-11 260
F Carmelo Anthony 6-8 240
G Rodeny Stuckey 6-5 225
G Mo Williams 6-1 190
C Kosta Koufus 7-0 260
F Derrick Williams 6-8 240
F Demmarre Carroll 6-8 230
G Tim Hardaway JR 6-5 200
G Langston Galloway 6-2 200
Lou Admundson
Charie V
Shane Larkin
Rookie Robert Upshaw--Pick 35
Rookie Olivier Hanlan Pick 44 or whatever rookies they might want including greek.
Here is the thought process. I keep flexibility with smaller and each player I took is shooting efg +45% and each player has ability to score 20 points any given night. I like the upside with the young Derrick Williams as a stretch 4--Sacremento wont give him 8mm making him a free agent and we can swoop him for cheap on a 3 year commitment. I have many proven very and depth so I can mix and match/rest when needed.
The last 5 I just put together as a base example --but I would take the last 5 VERY seriously--probably two vets 1 3 pt shooter out of the two and one PG--probably not Larkin but just shown as example--as were the C--Upshaw and PG Hanlan I exampled out of rd #2. Statistically this is a much better built team, Im basing that I have two stars in Towns and Anthony--but I can beat you all over the place. Also NOT sold on hardaway OR Galloway--theyre in there for chepa and example--but its open competition time for them as I will bring in many many new guys on the SL team.
Butler & MONROE. Fill in the rest
K. Middleton- $12-15m
C. Joseph- $7m
K. Koufos- $5-6m
A. Ajinca -$3-5m
B. Bass- $ 2.5m(bi-annual exception)
Nick Calathes- vet min.
Bring up Thanasis
No Shane, No Shved, No Bargs, No Smith, NO Bargs, NO Smith, No Shved, and No Acy.

Fckng terrible--youd have to pay 13mm for each. We have so many holes--cant do it that way.
That's they way. Ask posters their opinions then tell them how dumb they are. lol.

Thats not bad Yellow boy. We need multiple positions filled. We cannot pay 13mm for 2 different players
i'm not a big bass fan although i'm pretty sure he's someone we are going to target....
We need to spend money on pro guards--not 1 of them--2-3 of them.
Back in mid-January, I offered up this roster:
5 - Enes Kanter (max contract -- 4-yrs/$58.68mm)
4 - JaMychal Green (4-yrs/$5mm but willing to eclipse any offer SA gives him)
3 - Carmelo Anthony
2 - Orlando Johnson
1 - Emmanuel Mudiay (assuming pick 2-3 in the draft -- I can't assume pick 1 even with the most ping-pong balls)
-------------------------
5 - Jeff Withey (3-yrs/$10.5mm)
4 - Lavoy Allen (4-yrs/$16mm)
3 - Cleanthony Early (really important that he starts playing bigger mins, esp. once Melo shuts it down)
2 - Kevin Murphy
1 - Bryce Cotton
-------------------------
5 - Earl Barron (resurfaced in the DL and is playing great. Taking and making 3s now. Still rebounds well. Quality 3rd string C depth)
4 - Khem Birch
3 - Thanasis Antetokounmpo
2 - Tim Hardaway Jr.
1 - Jose Calderon
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A different take:
5 - Alexis Ajinca (4 yrs/$20mm)
4 - Okafor or Towns (God willing)
3 - Carmelo Anthony
2 - Orlando Johnson or Dominique Jones (near minimum)
1 - Brandon Knight (max offer on day 1 of FA -- what's his max? 4 yrs/$60mm??)
-------------------------
5 - Earl Barron (3 yrs/$7.5mm)
4 - Lavoy Allen (4 yrs/$16mm)
3 - Luke Babbitt (3 yrs/9mm) or Jordan Hamilton (4 yrs/$5mm)
2 - Kevin Murphy (near minimum)
1 - Bryce Cotton (near minimum)
-------------------------
5 - Jordan Bachynski
4 - Khem Birch or Jerrelle Benimon
3 - Thanasis Antetokounmpo
2 - Tim Hardaway Jr.
1 - Langston Galloway
1. Tobias Harris - 12-15mill or Khris Middleton - 10 mill - (Bucks will resign) or Gerald Green - 10 mill
2. K. Koufas - 6 mill (backing up or playing next to TOWNS) or A. Ajinca - 3mill
3. Cory Joseph - 4 mill or Pat Beverly 5 mill or D. Sloan - 3mill or John Jenkins - 2 mill
4. Gerald Henderson - 7 mill or Corey Brewer - 7 mill or W. Johnson - 5mill
Splat wrote:Can they get both Wesley Matthews and Paul Milsap? That would be a good off-season IMO.
It would, but the Blazers have a tonne of cap space, so there's no way they won't re-sign Lopez and Wes

That used to be my line of thinking until I found out we'll only have $26mil to spend. I'd go:
Towns
Monroe or Millsap
Green
Joseph or Beverly
Trade Tim Jr for PJ Hairston
Really I'd love to sign one of Wes Mathews, Butler or Khris Middleton, but I don't see their teams letting them walk.

If we release Calderon which my bet is we do--not counting the draft pick we should be in the neighborhood of 34-38mm in cap space--also depending on what they do with Hardaway and the potential rise n the cap.
