New York Knicks — Willie ReedReed has been one of the D-League’s top prospects all season long and the Knicks need somebody who can inject some excitement into a dull season. They already hit one homerun with Langston Galloway and Reed could be another great pickup for them moving forward.
He played Summer League with the Indiana Pacers averaging 9.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in only 19.9 minutes, but it wasn’t good enough to warrant an NBA contract and he took a brief trip to Israel before returning to the D-League. Reed was recently traded from the Grand Rapids Drive (Detroit Pistons affiliate) to the Iowa Energy (Memphis Grizzlies affiliate) and in two games with Iowa he is averaging 29 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.o blocks which was good enough to take home Player of the Week honors last week.
