ha ha- when I did it, Knicks came 3rd, 4th, 4th, 4th, 4th- I stopped playing it then!

I know, they got 2nd, 3rd, 4th - each time took Mudiay - when they finally got 1st, it was Okafor.

Mudiay is by far the second best player in the draft. If you just observe his speed and athleticism you will take him over Russell. To me it's a easy choice Ok4 one Mudiay two Towns three and Russell four.

I'd agree. Phila will definitely take that kid & if not, Russell.

Any one of Okafor, Towns, or Mudiay is good to me. Which probably means we get Russell. I hope he's as good as advertised!

russell is the real deal. Towns and okafor as good as they are have the benefit of playing with very good teams. Russell in my opinion really carries his team which is impressive

I know I won't find many people who share these sentiments but I'd definitely "trade down" for Joel Embiid and the Sixers' 2nd first round pick. I still believe in Embiid's promise and think that his talent eclipses anyone else's in this draft. I see his career having the same trajectory of Jermaine O'neal.

it isnt gonna happen anyway. Not saying its a terrible idea but there is almost zero chance that is even discussed

Stranger things have happened. And there were reported rifts between Embiid's camp and the Sixers so I think the circumstances are there to get it done, especially when you consider the concerns about Embiid's health. And when you stop to consider that Nerlens Noel is near perfect fit next to Okafor, it'd make too much sense not to happen.

They are the only two players I'm interested in. ....anybody else, Im picking for another team, while looking for a trade partner. Just because we have a top 4 pick. ..doesn't mean the top 4 players will be the best 4 in the draft.

Towns and russell have superstar potential. ...everybody else in the top of the draft are solid role players.

Btw....OK4 is not even the best player on his team.

What difference does it make? Focus all you want, it won't change anything. We aren't the ones making decisions.

dont get defensive man. I never said it was a terrible idea just very unlikely
Finestrg @ 3/8/2015 12:33 AM
I think trading down is a possibility. We don't have to do anything mind you--we could be content to make our selection 1-4 (hopefully no lower) and be done with it. However, I think we should keep an open mind and listen to all offers. I mean say we pick 1st and the Lakers pick 4--suppose they offer something like pick 4, Jordan Clarkson, pick 27 and/or 34 to move up to 1? Or a pick in next year's draft? What if we really wanted Karl-Anthony Towns all along and found out we could get him at 4 along with adding another asset or 2? I understand we can't trade the pick but we could make a selection for someone and vice versa -- it's the same thing basically. I'm not worried that we won't be able to swing a deal. We'll be able to if we saw the value -- we just need to go about it a little more roundabout..Just something to consider. The higher pick we get, the more offers we'll get and the earlier we should starting getting them (if we were ever lucky enough to get the 1st pick, offers might starting rolling in right after the lottery). I'm interested to see what some of those might be. It may be the way to go, it may not. Just want Phil to keep an open mind.
Stevo718 @ 3/8/2015 1:55 AM
Russell and Mudiay are gonna be all stars and they will run your team... That's what we need... If we can trade Okafor or Twons to another team for Russell or Mudiay and some other players or future picks I think you have to do that.
Splat @ 3/8/2015 8:12 AM
Reporters are now saying the Knicks are entertaining offers to trade their first round pick.

If the Knicks do that, then Phil would be showing his desperation to get mileage out of the ridiculous Melo contract by landing another star ASAP. That would be the nail in the coffin of this franchise and Phil's rep as a GM.

If the Knicks do this, then the term "rebuild" should be permanently banished from the lips of all fans forevermore.

Hector @ 3/8/2015 8:19 AM
Mudiay & Russell should go 1 on 1 for the right to be picked 3rd. I'd pay to see that.

To bad E.M. won't be in the tourney.

FistOfOakley @ 3/8/2015 8:43 AM
if we get #1 and trade it for whatever reason... that might be the last straw for me...

I don't think they will trade the pick. But listening to offers is the right and thorough thing to do. If Phil wasn't exploring all options he would be called a whore money grabber by some.

Actually, I fully agree with you. That's just part of the job. But doing it would be a tacit confession everything is now predicated on leveraging Melo's value, thus confirming the franchise's priorities.

Entertaining offers and taking calls is what GMs do. They try to be cordial while deducing what intel they can from their conversations with each other.

So they can yak all they want. But if they don't go for a top 3 player they can actually build around and settle for the immediate gratification route, I do consider that pretty much the bottom of the barrel for Phil and this franchise.

You'd have a club that throws away its one chance in 25 years to draft a franchise player. That would be totally wack.

Hector @ 3/8/2015 9:13 AM
I just hope we have luck on our side this time - and some competence.

Lamarcus Aldridge was drafted in our slot
Joakim Noah was drafted in our slot.

2 picks away from Westbrook
One pick away from Curry.
The Mcdyess disaster when we could have taken Amare - rather then get him 9 years too late.

I just hope we get it right this time.
Towns, Okafor or Mudiay & if it's Russell I just hope he is as advertised.

It's fun to be in a position to grab real talent, instead of the Jordan Hill, Channing Frye, Michael Sweetney

disappointments we've had for a decade & more. Was David lee really our best draft pick this millennium?

EnySpree @ 3/8/2015 9:13 AM
http://teamstre.am/1BVBft2

espn is reading the boards. A stupid fluff article that people with poor reading comprehension will interpret as the Knicks absolutely trading away the pick.

EnySpree @ 3/8/2015 9:47 AM
I'm going to throw this out there....

would you trade (on draft night for the asshole that's going to say "we can't trade the pick")

Our #1 and Calderon for al Jefferson and Lance Stevenson?

Our starting lineup could be:
Jefferson
Melo
Bargnani
alexey
Stevenson

Charlotte could then possibly get towns and stein back together in Charlotte on the pro team.

Laugh all you want but I'm adjusting my nba 2k15 roster as we speak
