Knicks · Riley does it again (page 2)

Riley is real good with his moves no doubt about it. I thought the Dragic move was excellent. White side I wanted to draft this guy when he came out. I'm not gonna fault Phil though he is doing a full rebuild and this year was significant to get some contracts squared away and assure themselves of a real good high lottery pick. I think Phil's clock will start as soon as this year ends.

I liked some of the moves Phil made this year. Galloway is serviceable and so is Shved. He picked up some good role players to go forward with. Let's see how the off season unfolds.

Beasley is on a 10 day in Miami and had 18-7 last night. He has a relationship with the Heat but he could be added to the list of guys Riles got this year.

Phil has been here about a year in a historically losing franchise. He has yet to get his feet wet trying to get where Riley is. The heat historically is a winning franchise. All of the winning was fine in riles watch ever since he drafted wade....we will get our wade this year hopefully.

Miami has a culture, long standing coach and some toots blended in.

No doubt that helps the Dleague guys.

You can read it how you like but it's like shut up about another team already. Just go to a miami heat forum and be free.

I'm sick of you guys complaining all the damn time. Phil can't correct the whole last 15 years. He just got here. When we start winning, we'll get more opportunities to get better. We have money and a top pick coming. We're at the beginning stages towards getting better.

I want to enjoy this process. Not listen to you guys talk about other teams and how we ate so hopeless.

Phil is untouchable. For some, questioning his abilities as a GM is like spitting on the Cross. I sniffed out Phil early on. He's up against sharp GM's who are carving him up like mincemeat. But he has 11 rings. He's so very Zen. When Phil shows he doesn't have a plan, his acolytes say that is the plan. It's all so very convenient.

Oh come on, if Phil's big moves this offseason were signing Bosh and Dragic to 5year Max contracts, and trading 2 first rounders to do so, you all would be calling for his head. Riley does it and he's a genious.

Riley has had some great moments as a GM, but he doesn't always get it right- Juwan Howard, Brian Grant, etc.

Ironically, your example applies to you and others. You are the one saying why Phil cant bang the chicks (get better talent) because he doesnt have better shoes (cap space), subpar players beer belly).

Riley has had some great moments as a GM, but he doesn't always get it right- Juwan Howard, Brian Grant, etc.

No GM is perfect, but citing a few miscues dont offset the marvelous work he has done. Just wondering though, do you think signing Juwan Howard was a bad move? Dude made min salary to be a locker room presence.

I just hope Phil can continue to keep Jimmy D from sticking his sausage fingers in the phucking basketball decisions. To me that's a NYK GM job well done.

You may wanna thank the dude that told Dolan to sign him and keep up with his band. The only reason why Dolan hasnt gotten involved is because he's out to show the Knicks woes arent exclusively because of him. Once Phil fails, you wont be able to blame Dolan for it.

Thats always been his goal from day one, but fans seem to be gaga over a dude thats won in a different facet that they currently are in. Phil cannot cash in the rings for exec experience. Dolan hired Phil to get the fan heat off himself, when actually he should have hired a younger more innovative guy who would have put the Knicks on a real rebuild, not an old guy who doesnt have the time to truly rebuild.

I'm talking about the $100mil contract he signed Howard to back in 1997 (or around then)- got rescued by stern who ruled the contract illegal after the Bullets fans started crying about it.

Blame or not, I'm happy with Dolan being involved as little as possible.

I don't think Phil has been completely horrendous and I don't think anyone expected us to have a competitive/meaningful season, so the losing/tanking is welcomed imo.

Would taking a conservative approach to free agency be a flub? If the right guys aren't there I think Phil saves some of the cap space to use on free agents in 2016. This is pretty close to a total rebuild. That can't happen in one offseason.
