Because Russell at best is Allan Houston in 5yrs. Good system player, possible Allstar but lacks athletism to become a blue chip prospect.
Towns, OK4 & Mudiay are high level prospects. Mudiay can have a Westbrook/Harden/Wall-like impact on teams right away
Russell's numbers aren't even that great. They should be better. His team is not very good and he is inconsistent in college. It's going to take a few years for him to play consistently well in the NBA
Lunacy and ignorance. To make this statement simply tells me you have not watched Russell play more than 5 minutes.
I don't believe that dude has seen Russell play. If he can compare Russell to Houston; oh my!
I've been watching him all year. He is more like Curry than Houston but I don't think he's a cornerstone player that Curry is. I'm not as comfortable comparing him to Curry as some are. Too many turnovers

he's much more physical than Curry ever was in school. Also Russell just turned 19 and is playing against better comp. Russell is much more like Wade than Curry.
Yea I was thinking Wade. Smart player but doesn't have Wade's athleticism. Mudiay does. We just don't know how he will develop between the ears. NBA teams will draft him top 3 based on his skills and potential to be the full package

He does... he really does. He can fly with the best of the them. Remember he literally turned 19 about 3 weeks ago and has toyed with guys in the NCAA. Thats what you want to see.. guys who simply dominate their competition. He's putting up 20/5/5 and carrying his college team at an 18 year old.
If I can make a deal with my number #1 pick and 3 future 2's to get 3 10 and 35 Id take Towns Kaminsky and Hanlan 2 seniors and a freshmen.
BRIGGS wrote:If I can make a deal with my number #1 pick and 3 future 2's to get 3 10 32 and 35 Id take Towns Kaminsky Hanlan and Wells. 3 seniors and a freshmen.
they may do that... they may simply decide that Towns/OK4/etc value is less than what is being offered. Thats the definition of sell high. I would have no problem with that at all.

you are giving up the number #1 pick? How are you taking towns? If he slips to number 3?
I think the only way you trade the #1 pick, if the Knicks get it, is if the #2 and #3 teams are willing to trade for it and they both like the same player. Of course this would mean That the player they like is different from the player Knicks like. Then it would be smart to trade with the #2 team to make sure you get a little compensation and the player you want.

I would not trade if I did not end up with Towns. IF the compensation was right Id take Okafor. I like Olivier Hanlan and Kaminsky a lot. If Philly wanted Okafor or Mudiay and wanted to guarantee their pick IF we get 1--if I can pull off something like that--where my rebuilding is deeper--I would try.

philly does not stupidy give away picks, they compile them.
Do you really think that this is a reasonable scenario?
1, 2 and 3 are so close, why in the world would they do something like this?

I suggested in the Kaminsky thread to swap with Philly and take Towns & Philly's 2016 1st(top 10 protected from Miami)
Other than that or Anthony Davis we can't be stupid enough to trade the pick

Didnt GS once give 3 number 1 picks + their 3 to move up to get Webber? and Orlando got Penny Hardaway.

Teams did not value picks in a non cap era the same way they do now. Unfortunately the knicks have been operating the past 15yrs like its 1993

yes. and we made the Eddie Curry trade.
so you are betting on Hinkie brain farting at the draft?

The guy has like 15 number 1 picks. If he wants a certain player and is sitting in position #3 then Im sure the Knicks can talk with them. It all depends on where the ping pong balls go---until then this is just talk. Id like this to be an aggressive draft where we get two bigs and a PG but it will be VERY tough to do it.
A little more realistic would be if LAL fall to #6 trading down w/ Pho.
Knicks trade pick #2 for picks 6,13,44
Knicks could do something like
6: Mario Hezonja
13: Kaminsky or BPA
44: BPA
Or
Knicks trade #1
Lakers trade #5, 27 and 34
There should be a lot of opportunity
Get me Terry Rozier and Dakari Johnson with some of the other BIGS in Kentucky, at those draft positions, who has a bit of Eric Bledsoe in him but might not reach his ceiling, which none of us can predict how he will develop and transition his game in the NBA
While Darki Johnson's talents are hidden with the depth of Kentucky, he could be a Monroe or some other solid NBA BIGS that is currently still a bit raw but has upside with the right player development/trainers/development coaches, could be a steal of the draft
Great risk/value

There is no way I would trade number 1 for anything less than 3 and other two number 1's and 2 number 2's. Thats pick 1 were talking about. You dont trade pick 1 for 5 and essentially 2 second round picks. The compensation for the number 1 pick has the value of a premium all star player.

it does not matter what you would do. They are pipe dreams at best and will NEVER happen. At least Fishmike's are more representative of the actual values even if they probably won't happen either.
It would not make sense for me to post over and over again that I want 10 number one picks for my pick.
