Durant need only look at Melo to Knicks deal and see the vast reduction fo talent a blockbuster trade means.
If he truly wants to be happy he has to go free. He has to unequivly tell OKC that they can trade him but no guarantee he'll resign with anyone and will go free.
Its a shytty thing to do, but its the only way he can be free. Teams can sign and trade to clear cap space which gives OKC some value in return but not enough to empty depth.
Something is up with Durant. He bailed on team USA, then he hurt his foot (could have been during this), the sneaker endorsement deal was weird, he got enganged, then bailed on the girl (it happens) and he is very grumpy. Its almost as if he in some depressed state. I know the life of glamor, millions of dollars and a pro athlete is not easy but this kid just seems like something is not together.
Im sure he is just foaming at the mouth to take on the crush we call NYC media!!!

You can't handle the truth. They are both ambulance cases now and that IS EXACTLY WHAT WOULD HAPPEN if somebody's fantasy scenario actually came to pass. The truth is the only way those two could co-exist on the same team is by not being on the floor at the same time. Deal with it.

You are blowing this out of porportion. Someone mentioned Durant and Melo playing together, he disagreed and ASKED for a rebbutal..which is very common on a discussion board hence the world DISCUSS.

foot problems and knee problems seem to be at an all-time high. sometimes it is merely genetic but i think it is time to wonder how effective these athletic shoes are. knee problems in my opinion are a corollary to the loosening of the rules around palming, which led to crossover cheats and increased torque on the knees.
that said, i disagree about durant having a young man's game. i see durant as sort of a stretched out paul pierce. he needs to work on his footwork a bit and it couldn't hurt to try and tighten up his stride and add an extra dribble instead, in order to get where he wants to go. as has often been said about pierce, he is not the quickest player in the world but he gets to where he wants to go.
durant's skills are being squandered in okc. it's impossible to coexist with an egomaniac like westbrook. durant, like pierce, is destined to be a point forward and the best situation for him is to find his own version of kevin garnett, ie a player who is a playmaker from the 4-5 position and who can defend. durant is a small forward having to share time with a tweener backcourt player. that is not going to work out.
