how would that happen?

I would like the top 12 picks

I'll leave that up to the trade experts. It's just frustrating as a fan, when we have so many holes to fill, and only 1 pick to use.

can't believe that we don't have our 2nd rounder this year. that's brutal

I'm happy we have a top pick.....But this is the draft and the year when we need more picks.....Hopefully we can buy a low 1st or high 2nd.

We should definitely consider dangling THJ and Early in a trade for a higher pick

Or I would trade the top pick for Stein and another pick or vet. With Stein, at least you know he's a Tyson Chandler clone right now, with potential to get better. And he's a senior so he has more maturity right now. Towns has a higher ceiling, but he's currently way below his potential right now. I'm not sure if Phil, Melo or Fisher can afford a project right now. I think they rather have mature players and vets that can show their value right away, without waiting on them to develop.

That's too short sighted. Right now Towns baseline at the next level is what you would expect out of Stein and he is the bigger guy. He might do a better job against bulkier NBA players. I would draft Towns and just bring him along slowly.

Eh I would leave Early alone, he is making improvments.
Nice to see that you've come around on Timmy.

Dude, I am fair and impartial about my assessments of players. I still think THJ can be a good player, but not under Fisher.

BRIGGS @ 3/15/2015 3:07 PM
If the Knicks had a Kanter at pf
Than they could conceivably match up with stein at 5

We both agree with Towns as the guy....I just hope Phil agrees, due to these win now contracts of Phil, Melo and Fisher.

The only thing I see with Towns that could and will be an issue is his motor or motivation. That could be due to Towns limited playing time, and him thinking about the millions he's going to get, even if he doesn't play another game. While Stein who doesn't seem to have that motivation problem, took the old school route by doing his 4 years, and maturing at the right time. Players like Stein who come into the league with less expectations, usually become one of the surprises of the draft.

Personally, I like both guys potential at the next level, and would be happy with either one.

Fair point. He needs to go to a team with a really good coach if he wants to turn out to be a decent NBA player.

I think if we go big with our pick.....We need a big FA to pair them up with. I don't see any of the draft picks holding down the paint by themselves. But I could be wrong with Towns and Stein.....We shall see!

Is Monroe the key FA for us? Seems like any combination of OK4, Towns, Russell, Stein, whatever....looks good when you also add Monroe.

Really, if you pair Monroe with any big in the draft, it will be a dramatic change. Even for the bigs going late in the draft.

Knicks1969 @ 3/15/2015 3:29 PM
Russell,Stein, Monroe could also be a winner. We simply need to move away from Calderon and the slow pace. We need to adapt to the uptempo style and spread the floor with shooters

Shoot, we could use both guys. This why I wouldn't mind us trading the pick if it can help us to obtain a couple of early picks in the first round. I like early and THJ, but if trading them can get us another top pick, I would pull the trigger on that deal as well.

As the worse team in the league...everybody should be on the trading block.....including Melo. Especially with this draft thats deep with solid roll players in the first round. I think its time for athletic wings that can shoot and defend is key. Dont need the traditional pg likr Calderon in this system. We need some dogs that likes to defend and hit open shots. The problem is do these types of guards exist right now? Whos available in FA or in the draft?

You don't like Kanter. He is having a great stretch right now. It helps being paired with Ibaka and Adams.

10 games is nice ... too small of a sample size.

would you max him out?

Max probably not but I don't think it will take the max to get him out of OKC. I just don't know his value around the league. I'm trying to think of a place that would give him max money and I can't think of one. Maybe the Lakers, Boston, and NY(hopefully not). If the knicks could get him on a 3yr 10-12m I would consider him if his great play continues.

It would also be based on you the knicks get in the Draft. Towns or Russell would be a nice pairing.

maybe at 10 x 3 I would be ok ... someone will overpay him by a lot and I hope that it is not us

I like Kanter. He moves well without the ball and can score in the low block. I would take this kid over the frontline we currently have.

DON"T replace Admunson

Next year we're gonna need his veteran leadership.
