He's actually getting better. Don't know if he's a longterm answer but he may have value as a reserve. We have to see what better players Phil can bring in.

You guys are absolutely pathetic if you think this team has done squat since Smith & Shumpert were traded

& we signed some junk to a 10 day contract?

Makes me sick for anyone to try to justify this crap

Your such good Knick fans for believing something good is happening right now, have a cookie --->

im pretty ambivalent about larkin. he doesn't strike me as anything special, i think we can do better in a 3rd pg next year

I wouldn't cry if we don't retain him. Shved does have PG qualities. He sees the floor extremely well and he attacks the paint and always get foul

No one is going overboard. The entire point is that we have a ton of open slots and not enough money to fill them with expensive Free Agents. So with every role player that shows he can contribute it makes rebuilding next year that much easier. We'll have good role players we can fill in around the new players we bring in. It's a matter of practicality. Unless you have some unknown resource we don't know of that can magically bring in cheap good players next year.

Since the Triangle is sooooo complicated. Seems like we needed to train the roll players all year.....That eliminates additional training for next year.....while adding cheap talent to fill the bench. Now we have assets we can keep or trade for more draft picks and veteran help.

Normally a game like tonight would have been good fun, but I thought it sucked.

I can't get into anything about this team.
Maybe I'm just a bit jealous that other people can enjoy this crap.

It's nauseating but also a little bit amusing.

I understand your pain. I felt the same way when we used to be capped out, barely making the playoffs....just to get kicked out in the first round, and end up with a pick near the bottom of the first round...that we had to purchase, because we traded every pick.

This is lovely compared to those days. I wish we had the sense to tank then, when we actually had a decent team to creep into the playoffs, but far from a championship contender. All we needed was one good year to tank, and we would've been back to the eastern finals. Instead we now have a team thats still not tanking.....they just plain suck.

It's kind of like fake hilarity, but you know this is going to happen. People are going to hype every little positive they can. Bottom line is they are all role players and maybe some will be part of the future rotation, but it ain't mofongo and rice and beans with plantains and garlic which is something to get excited about.

We have to keep things in perspective. No one is actually happy about the current roster. The way to look at it is how it can impact the future. Some of these players are definitely coming back and so this year is not irrelevant or meaningless. Also since we know we're getting a draft pick and some Free Agents there's reason for optimism for the future. We found some nice role players for almost nothing in Gallo, Lou and Shved. That's good freakin news.

Absolutely good news. We don't know who our starters will be next season, but we should be able to pick five or six players from the current team to be our reserves. All teams need good bench players.

Phil, Jim & Derek are all feeling really good right now and feel this is a group that could play a part in the future plans. There will definitely be more moves but they really feel the team has turned a corner. Our patience with this team and management group will soon be rewarded.

You may find it odd that the squad which included Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith, Pablo Prigioni and Amar'e Stoudemire ran up a pathetic 5-36 record, with far more help from Carmelo Anthony, while the scrub unit simply trying to play out the season has posted a less pathetic 8-17 mark.

If we were to end up with Russell and Stein/Kaminski as our picks in the 2015 drafts, would you all still want to retain Bargnani? If it were up to me, I wouldn't want anything to do with Bargnani. His presence alone symbolizes past failure or BAD trades by the Knicks.

It's a fantasy to imagine that we could land those players but if we did, I would assume that it would make keeping Bargs that much easier. Low cost Rookies save you money and allow you to use more cap space on vets. I'm thinking Phil would resign Bargs to a short contract if that happened. Another thing to consider is that we gave up assets to get Bargs and just letting him walk is a further waste of those lost assets. I don't think it would be that smart. Bargs as a symbol of failure isn't as likely when you have all of this new frontline talent becoming the face of the franchise.

I don't believe it is that far fetched to assume a possibility of drafting the aforementioned players; specifically, if we end up with the first pick. Quality Big men are rare, and are always in high demand. That alone can force a team to do unthinkable trades. Chances are teams around the league will salivating over the idea of drafting Okafor and Towns
