Overtime....Russell is not selfish enough to be a megastar. He should have kept the ball and took the last shot

It does seem that way. I'm about to go nerd on this analogy but he is like regular Goku but all of a sudden he will power up and go Super Saiyan by display some elite next level skills. When he actually flexes his ball handling skills you see a little Curry or Kyrie in him.

no kyrie in him ... he is all team
What a sick handle, like watching Curry at times.
Did yah see the crossover??
Russell may have the best court vision for a college player in a very very long time.

I'm just talking about his ball handling. You have to get over your Kyrie hate.

This kid is the real deal. I hope the Knicks luck into him.

and there is no hesitation when he has a good look.
this guy is working his way up to number one as a can't miss
Oh yeah, we have to draft this kid if he is available
Beginning to warm up to the idea of taking him over the defenseless OK4
Russell or Towns. Damn glad I'm not the one to make the decision
I think one of Russell next step will be to display his actual athleticism and use his size on back screens to catch lobs. He also need to go on the "anti-shved" diet and training program.
I like his game. A little worried about his motor. Seems to take a back seat sometimes.
His shooting is great. Good handle and good passer.
The biggest need we have is cohesion and talent. Russell will single handedly run your team... You gotta take him no matter what... He will be the best player in this class in 2 years. If we get the first pick trade Okafor for Russell n stuff
This was the first time I've watched Russell play this year and....wow.
Phil and the Knicks have a tough decision this off-season...I think the question is how comfortable are they with letting A.Shved/Galloway run the show? How confident are they with coming away with a legit big man during free agency?
I'm part of the "draft OK4" camp but I also feel that, when building an NBA team, you have to start with the PG position. If crop that we currently have are not part of the future plan than I think the Knicks have to seriously consider this kid.
Russell is a taller version of D. Lillard, but a much better shooter

and lillard is much more athletic
Russell, has the same potential as OK4 and Towns...and even a few others not mentioned.
But lets assume all three play at the same level you see in college. Which is always a possibility.
I still like Towns as a Camby type. I like Russell as a JR replacement, but unselfish and a team player with passing skills. Russell knows how to score in the system, instead of being a black hole, because he actually enjoys the catch and shoot role.
But it should be clear by now, there are no clear cut #1 picks this year. That might work in Phils favor. He doesn't have to go into full tank mode. He can still add players like Ricky Ledo and Shevd, trying to find a diamond in the ruff. He knows any of the top 3 will be a solid asset, and I think it will not change his free agent targets. This is my interpretation of Phils thinking.
Russell has star potential, because of his maturity and unselfishness....Once he gets to the NBA, all the coaching staff have to tell him is, take over! He's naturally unselfish, with skills to match the other NBA ball hogs. Thats a nice player to have....Unselfish stars.
I remember they pulled Towns because he was going 1 on 2....Towns isn't their yet, as far as basketball IQ, even though he has super star potential. Russell might be the best option....Unless you want to see Shevd and Calderon getting major minutes as the PG/SG combination in crunch time.
