Melo is a good soldier he is in it for the money. I'm not to worried about what he wants and neither is Phil. Remember Melo wants an ISO Melo coach and he doesn't have that. you were on a roll UNTIL you said you trusted dolan. Phil i trust but dolan has proven to be the worst owners in sports. He is the main reason we have sucked for 15 years

You guys got Dolan wrong.

not really. Nothing personal but its pretty evident he has been a major problem for years. I cant believe a dolan fan exists lol

+1, have to consider the possibility that:

a) Vmart is pulling our legs
b) It's "opposite" day
c) Vmart is on some new meds that impair cognitive functioning
d) Dolan paid him to say that

You guys are to angry. I don't believe Dolan is a bad owner. I have said this time and again that he spends money and tries real hard to bring in people to get the Knicks in the right direction. He has spent ridiculous amounts just on management. If anything management has screwed this franchise up big time with poor moves. You want to blame anyone blame guys like Isiah, Brown.

I think he has realized his mistake is complete given Phil the Control. You need to lighten up and see an owner trying to do thee right things instead of harping on his mistakes.

That doesn't make sense. The problems long pre-dated those individuals and continued long after them. They are just brief symptoms of an enduring problem. They aren't the problem itself. And spending money doesn't make you a good owner, just a desperate one. Return on investment, not total amount of investment, is what matters. There's no organization in the world where you can say, "I spent a lot of money. That makes me a great owner. Yeah, we got nothing out of it, but give me credit for all the spending."

There were people who went ape shyt over Isiah hiring. The Hiring of Brown was seen as a move to get the Knicks relevant. But hey let's blame Dolan for trying to get better. Man you guys just want blame Dolan. He can't win no matter what he does because some of his move back fired now all his moves will back fire. I don't see Dolan as the problem the problem has been and always will be GMs that come in here and made bad decisions and presented Dolan a vision and sell him on it. Leyden was give limitless spending his teams were constantly over capped. His decisions were bad but let's blame Dolan right.

Larry wanted to tear it down and build it back up. Dolan sided with Isiah and the rest is history. The pressure to turn it around with the group that Isiah put together led to trading for Steve Francis.

It all traces back to Dolan and he is also responsible for hiring idiots. Except Walsh wasnt his idea it was Stern. Hopefully Phil is different.

Yes but Larry wasn't the GM he was hired to coach.

In no organization on this planet is it seen as a legit excuse that all the people you decided to hire were failures. Even if that excuse is correct, it doesn't help.

Yea and he realized pretty quick that coaching a group of idiots Isiah put together was not going to work. Larry been around the game long enough to know that. However doing a full rebound went against Dolan's wishes at the time. And to this day Dolan doesn't not believe in a full rebuild.

Dolan is the problem.

Isiah was just the crack/steriods that exasperated the problem

I don't believe that. Have you ever heard the saying do your job. Brown needed to coach the Knicks that was what he was hired to do win or lose do your job. Instead he sabotaged the organization trying to take Isiah out of the picture.

gunsnewing @ 3/21/2015 2:28 PM
Whether you liked the job Walsh did or not. I personally did not. It is funny that the only GM who set us up for good things and eventually led at a 54 win team was a guy that Dolan didn't even want to hire but was forced to by David Stern after the Anucha/Isiah fiasco

Grunwald built that team..

I agree that showed his willingness to adapt and take on suggestions from other sources. Isiah came at Magic Johnson's suggestion after he turned him down. Now we have Phil here. I see a guy trying to rectify his mistakes. Walsh is known more for getting Amare a bust and Melo a deal he couldn't make happen without the intervention of Dolan(one of his mistakes). But he realized it and basically decided to not get to involved and give the keys to Phil.

Let's not be too hasty. The celtics traded their top pick for Ray allen, signed Garnett and proceeded to win a title after having the worst record in the league.

So I would trade the pick for the right body.

You guys choose what to believe but I happen to think that Phil has full autonomy. Dolan has jumped into deals in the past only one I can think of is Melo deal. The rest were all GM f'ups. It was Walsh who pulled the trigger on Amare and with Dolans help got Melo deal done. It was apparent that Walsh didn't and couldn't make a deal happen. Grunwald brought in old fart team that broke down and it was Grunwald that made the Bargs trade so, when a bad trade is made by a GM you blame the owner. He okayed the deal after his trusted GM sold him on his vision. That's why you hire management to give you vision and to suggest a plan of action.

Now he has Phil here and on numerous occasions Dolan has said he is hands off and Phil is in charge. Even Phil has said this to be true. You know this entire team is all Phil's movements.

Why do Ranger fans not complain about Dolan? Because he lets his president of Rangers operation do his job. He is hands off with the rangers he is going and doing the same with the Knicks.

Phil has only said "yes" to Melo. Im not sure that was such a bad idea.
In two years melo's contract won't be kicks biggest.

"blame" is not important. If Dolan meddles, then he don't then its a change.
Evidence will take time.

Looks to me with the exception of Melo, its a freaking rebuild. Worst knick team ever exists today.
We don't rebuild, but now we are.

This is different.

Question is: Is it an improvement?

Stay tuned.

Yeah, he Rangers are a prime example that Dolan wont meddle. To be honest the Knicks are as well. Other than the melo deal, Dolan didnt meddle even though he should have at times. What I've found is that it's easier for a fan to use the common cop-out and blame the owner when they know full well the execs are the ones making the majority of the decisions....good or bad.

Grunwald built a one year contender and the wheels fell off....Dolan never meddled because that was his hire. cant fault him for meddling with Walsh, it wasnt his hire and he was wondering what is taking him so long to bring a player that wants to be here and Walsh himself said he would bring in star players.

But make no mistake, even with Phil, if he messes up, Dolan wont meddle. He will give him the axe though.

Let's not be too hasty. The celtics traded their top pick for Ray allen, signed Garnett and proceeded to win a title after having the worst record in the league.

So I would trade the pick for the right body.

you cited one example ... do you actually think that makes it a good move? Since it worked for the celtics?

The Celtics had way more than just Pierce KG and Ray though. They had a damn good supporting cast. We also dont have an Al Jefferson to trade for an older ready to win player either.

and they had to hit big on Rondo to make it work as well. How many things had to go right for that trade to work? too many.
