Actually, his lack of play was due to his 'deer in the headlights' demeanour early on- Fish said in some post game comments a while ago about how players can chose to believe others are better than them if they want (I took it as a dig at Early). He needed to toughen up if he wanted playing time- throwing a player out there with zero confidence is usually disastrous- you need to take the slow approach has with them.

It's amazing how everyone expects a 2nd round pick that has gotten hardly no floor time to just be a great player from day 1.
I'm with you that i think the kid has promise and just needs actual floor/game time to get better which he hasn't got yet. He just needs to get the confidence in his play and his shot.
No one expects Early to be great right away, but he's been horrendous and he's already 24 so he's pretty physically mature. Much more so than any other rookie.

Anyway... It's been good to see Early coming along and not just him. We're gonna need our young prospects to develop and fit into roles for this team. It'll help save money for each young prospect we can develop into a real contributor for this team. We're gonna need that to happen as much as possible.

Our young Swingmen are going to be costing us very little. If we can develop them and they end up being good players we've helped our cause to put together a good roster with limited resources. It's not a perfect situation but it appears that our kids are developing and they still have plenty of upside to develop further. What's wrong with that?

As far as I am concerned, there is a clear and concise reason why the Knicks have been so bad the last decades. When you place no value in player development, this is exactly the type of record you deserve. It takes time and patience to develop young talent; and, both the fans, the Media, as well as, the dumb owner have often shown the temerity to allow our young cats to develop.
Yes Early is a borderline NBA player thus far. Having said that, he shows promising on the court and is rather athletic. To find a place in NBA, I think he should improve his jumper especially the three and defense. He should be a 3 & D guy.

He might be a better/smarter basketball player than THJ at this point. I need to see more of him to truly judge. He gives the effort at both ends of the court and he tries to rebound the ball. He needs to find a veteran mentor to guide him, and he needs to invest in a forward camp this summer to improve his lowpost game. Whatever he does, he needs not to emulate Carmelo.

Every team has some adequate players who cost very little. There's nothing wrong with it but there's nothing good about it either.

Of the 4 tanking teams, I wish we had what Philly has. I love Noel.
Maybe towns will be a mixture of Noel & Cousins. Which means we pick 2nd & get Okafor. 
IMO there are so many quality players in this draft I doubt we lose out in the top 4. As for Early he is starting to look like the player we drafted and that's a good thing cuz he was great in the NCAA Tourney and I think he's finally getting back to being that player. Being active and more aggressive.
