It all depends were they are picking. Will be hard to screw up the 1st 5
why would any of them have a better chance of draft busting then another?

Yea that's where I'm getting at. You have to see the draft order first
mreinman wrote:why would any of them have a better chance of draft busting then another?
because some are worse decision makers than others

A bust can be picked anywhere - starting at #1

Really hard to predict this unless a GM has a history of reaching and failing.

You really don't think you can infer anything about a GM's thinking from his trades and signings that would be relevant to drafting?

I guess if they have a history of being old school and relying on old school methodologies such as eye tests and triangles.
A guy like David Kahn who was nontraditional and thought he was a genius was a good example of a bust candidate.
Did you look at the data for the guys you mentioned and how their picks turned out? P
hil has never picked anyone so do you assume that his inexperience may make him more susceptible to a bust?
Where are you going with this? What is your thought process?

So many people are talking about how thankful we should be that we had this bad year. I just wanted to get a sense of how widespread the denial of the possibility that this whole year was wasted is.
The first Euro drafted will be a bust.

I have said numerous times that there is no way that we take a euro with a top 4 pick. NO WAY!
I would agree that picking a euro would be grounds for top bust potential (followed by Mudiay)

would love to see how we would spin a follow up tank next year.
Tanking this year was horrible ... the draft is a crap shoot and you need numerous chances to fail (which we don't have) and what FA's would want to come here not just because we would grossly overpay them?
What has a FA seen from what we are doing here that would get them thinking "I need to get into that system"? I would love to have the chance to play with Ricky Ledo and watch Carmelo ignore me when I am opened.
Did Hinkie draft MCW? That does not bode well.

This is just Bonns way of saying Phil will draft a bust

Please post your free agent targets and who you'd draft, so further down the line we can compare your judgement to Phil's. And none of that 'oh I already have somewhere in the past' - time to man up!
Another thinly veiled criticism of phil before he's had the chance to make the decision. Why don't you let him draft his guy and then evaluate, this poll is worthless.

No, I definitely don't make guarantees like that. Nix is the one with the crystal ball.

What I don't get is if people genuinely believe we suck now and will always suck and everything we do will be wrong, why bother following the team? Spend your time more wisely if you genuinely believe this is a doomed enterprise.

To irritate people that support the team they themselves have given up on.
We need a new poll on if an Internet forum poster who must be a slacker at work since he has infinite time to post and google advanced basketball stats knows more about basketball than a guy who's dedicated his life to the game with more titles than fingers.
