I disagree with Tyus Jones being a better prospect that Jerian Grant...
I also think Dekker has the potential to be a bigger Chandler Parsons so I think he is way too low
ok I just fcked up the whole thing:) thanks for pointing that out.
sorry -- other than that I think your list is solid. All but one of the names are right, IMHO.
LOl thanks for pointing out fixed it.
no worries... and actually (ball park) agree with where you have him! wasn't trying to be a jerk, just wanted to have dialogue about this, as this upcoming draft has been incredibly fun to dissect
edit: also, I think Stanley Johnson is one of the more divisive players in the mocks... people either think he is a stud in waiting or they think he's a little overrated. I am in the latter category
gunsnewing@ 4/7/2015 12:58 PM
I think Stanley will go in the 15-20 range like Chris Singleton did

The upper end of the draft is pretty dam good. Okafor could still go #1. I don't think there is much separating the top 6 guys. If some tam could trade and add another top player--it probably would be the prescient move.
Okafor will likely go 2 and putting him at 4 means little. Demarcus Cousins went 6th.
gunsnewing@ 4/7/2015 1:02 PM
It depends where the knicks and philly are picking. OK4 could go 3-5 but like you said it doesn't mean anything
SupremeCommander@ 4/7/2015 1:04 PM
Draft positioning means very little but I just see those names as the best in the class
SupremeCommander@ 4/7/2015 1:06 PM
My 6. would be Trey Lyles and my 7. would be Sam Dekker, even in spite of his terrible game last night. I admire that he was so active despite his shot being so incredibly off
I will never tire of watching this:
I bring up 6 and 7 because that's where I see the tier 1 prospects. I also am a huge fan of RJ Hunter and he, I guess, would be a name we will disagree on
Vmart@ 4/7/2015 2:52 PM
1. Okafor 2. Mudiay 3. Towns 4. Winslow 5. Kaminsky 6. Hezonja 7. Prozingis 8. T. Jones 9. Russell 10. Johnson

I also think he's overrated, but...seems to be some talk that Johnson might stay in college another year:

Johnson prob comes down to workouts.. he's so physical. I can see him simply wow-ing a few teams and getting plucked 5-10. I mean I could see him coming in for a workout with Winslow and killing him. There are few players in the NCAA as strong and physcial as Stanley Johnson. Should be interesting
RonRon@ 4/7/2015 3:27 PM
Ajinicia would be my #1 realistic target UFA, along with offering a MAX deal for Kawaii and a HUGE deal to Draymond Green or Millsap if we able to move CA At 7-2, he spreads the floor and could dominate 1v1 in deep post position, while having great length/mobility/athleticism for a PF/C to cover much ground for TEAM DEFENSE
I do not mind if we traded down if there is a bidding war
IMO, these guys are all the TOP at their positions
A- to A+ ==============
Towns/OK4
Winslow/Henzo
RuSsell/Mudiay
If we can get 2 of these players above, even if we need to move CA and a future 1st rounder to move up, I believe it is worth it While we have 2 rookie deals at the guard or G/F positions and utilize our cap space in this summer and next years class for the PF/C's and finish touch after a year of development
B+ =========
Kaminski/Stein/Kristaps Porzingis
I hope we can get back our 2nd rounders in this years draft and next years draft if Houston and CA have interest in each other in addition to New Orleans protected 1st rounder
Terrence Jones/DMO and fill ins
Lakers Pick would be interesting if they have interest if CA doesn't want to wait for us to develop our young guys as I think we must focus on

Ron--when I talked about Anjica early in the season I was hoping he could be a guy we could get for 4 or so mm--that wont be the case anymore and I dont know if hes built for 35 minutes or to pay him a going salary.
I love Kanter for PF hes built to last he might be the best rebounder in the nBA right now--which pays for his contract alone. Then you factor in he can score 20-30 points every night--he has the ability to be a very decent passer and to stay in front of his man in a team concept. He's a sure thing and for sure things especially 22 year old sure things--bingo. When I said I would trade down to get players Hezonga nd Kaminsky it was with the thought of getting players who could spread the floor with Kanter inside and to make a play for a shot blocker(Taveras) to play alongside Kanter and bring Kaminsky off the bench. Then load the team with guys who can athletically shoot drive rebound pass handle.

Briggs, that is why I'm so high on Mudiay. If the Knicks can land a center in FA it just makes so much sense to go after Mudiay. This guy is a point guard in a SG body. He sees the floor well and is athletic enough to guard PGs and SGs.
crzymdups@ 4/7/2015 4:45 PM
I'm curious about Mudiay, but I wish he'd been able to play more in places I could watch.
One of the guys I think would be a great fit for this team is Lance Stephenson and I think Mudiay could be in that mold. Or he could be Tyreke Evans.
I prefer D'Angelo Russell as the guards go.
My list:
1) Towns 2) Russell 3a) Okafor 3b) Mudiay
knicks1248@ 4/7/2015 5:02 PM
philly has no intentions on drafting towns or ok4, not when they have used there last 2 picks on embiid and noel, then watched both force out of action for their rookie campaign
Knicks1969@ 4/7/2015 5:14 PM
1) towns 2) Russell 3) Okafor 4) Winslow 5) Kaminski (the next Nowitski)

Nice list, I largely agree with it. I would swap Winslow and Mudiay and put Stanley Johnson just above Mudiay as well. I agree with your Kaminsky ranking also. I think there are legitimate concerns if his game translates to the NBA. If we ended up falling out of the top 2 and missing on the two big men I wouldn't mind if we took Winslow at either 3 or 4.
BRIGGS@ 4/7/2015 7:35 PM
Theory on moves this more than a 1 year wonder this is a foundation of moving forward short and long term.
C Taveras 7-3 265(Atlanta 2018 #1 pick protected to 10) PF Kanter 6-11 265(acquired free agency 4 years 64mm) SF Anthony 6-8 240 SG Hezonga 6-8 210(acquired via trade down) PG Scveyd 6-6 Signed 3 years 16.5mm)
C Frank Kaminsky 7-0 245(acquired via trade down) PF David Lee 6-9 245(acquired trade with GS with 2015 and 2019 #1 picks) SF Thanasis Antetokounmpo 6-7 2 years with team option) SG Tim Hardaway JR 6-6 PG Nate Wolters PG 6-5(signed vets minimum)
C Cole Aldrich C 6-11 260(resigned 3 years 4mm) F Christian Wood 7-0 225(acquired with David Lee 1st round pick 30) G Ricky Ledo G 6-7 1 year with tam option for 2 vet min) G Cleanthony Early 6-8 G Langston Galloway 6-2
2nd round pick G Joseph Young(cash Europe)
This would give us the biggest team in the NBA Only two guys over 30--Lee for leadership with the picks and his play is perfect for on year. We grab 2 shot blockers
Of course this wont happen--0 chance but its a model of what we could accomplish

Briggs: I like Hezonja, but does his serious lack of minutes not concern you?(apologies if someone has already asked you this and you have already replied)
TPercy@ 4/7/2015 8:48 PM
Jerian Grant is better than Tyus Jones in my opinion.
