This guy is really good. He's a Spur type player if I have ever seen 1.

Moonangie @ 4/8/2015 2:12 PM
He has one of the best handles for a 7 footer I have ever seen. He must have had a late growth spurt as a kid and played himself some PG. Some team with a pick past 5 will be getting an amazing player. But I would not pick him over Towns or OK4, no way, no how.

Im trying to think of one NBA player who is 7 feet tall and can handle pass rebound shoot in and out like Kaminsky. When you step back and think--he might just be the third best draft pick out there for this team. We need a big player and he can play. Kaminsky will be one of the most savvy picks--his bust potential is very low almost non exsistant.

gunsnewing @ 4/8/2015 2:21 PM
Dirk Nowitski

When a person takes a step back and thinks of all the things Kaminsky can do---I think there is an appreciation level. Even yesterday I am discounting him to a foreign player who is more explosive than Frank--but look at the pure skill level and feel for the game of Kaminsky. He just knows how to play.
Feel for the game and multi skilled. The more players you get like Kaminsky--the more you will win.

gunsnewing @ 4/8/2015 2:33 PM
I agree. He will be picked much later than he should be. Some team in the 6-10 range will really luck out

The Knicks need a big man so bad. I don't think we can bypass him. So that would be a 75% chance at Towns Okafor or Kaminsky--almost locked to get 1 IF we finish last.

I remember nbadraft.net using the Nowitzki comparison for Kaminski last year, but I didn't like it. Kaminsky isn't as bad as Kelly Olynyk, but I think Dirk was more explosive at the same age. I like the Laetner comparisons, because he is true in and out guy. I also see glimpses of Charles Smith ( Clippers version) if Kaminsky bulks up. I'd have to wait until combines and team workouts before I jump Frank all the way up to 3, but I think he's definitely played himself into the lottery.
StarksEwing1 @ 4/8/2015 3:02 PM
I really like kaminsky BUT im not sold on him quite yet to have a impact on the NBA. Not saying he wont but i dont think he will have a impact players like Towns and Russell will have.
gunsnewing @ 4/8/2015 3:23 PM
Laettner is another Dukie who had a solid NBA career. I like that comparison as Kaminsky's downside

Don't you mean he's a KNICKS type of player? We have to start looking at our team as one that is going to be following a similar process as a team like the Spurs. Phil believes in the exact same kinds of qualities in players and that total team basketball style. We have to stop thinking that just cuz we lost this year that the franchise isn't focused on the right things. They are cuz that's all that Phil knows and has been about. Players like Kaminsky are exactly the kind of players that Phil would like. Well rounded and smart players who understand team ball and what it takes to win.

I dont believe Kaminsky will ever have the stroke Dirk has. He can make a shot from even the most difficult angle. Part of that is due to his unconventional training. Still, Id be very happy to see Frank playing in NY. His versatility and energy would make him a great addition.

I think the Knicks need to get Porzingis and Kaminsky into private workouts to see how they do against each other.

Kaminsky is nice...I see him more as a poor mans K.Durant.

Actually..I think he can do everything Durant can minus the reliable jumper. I can definitely see him playing the 3 in the NBA

He has no where near the explosiveness or the length of Durant...Not even close. Durant plays like a tall guard, Ksminsky plays like a small big man. Theres a difference...

Laetner if Kaminsky's downside?...Laetners first 7 yrs in the league, he averaged around 17 pts and 8 rbs. His rookie years was 18 and 9. You think Kaminsky is putting up better numbers than that?

y2zipper @ 4/8/2015 6:20 PM
Yeah Kaminsky's too slow and doesn't have the lateral quickness to play the 3 in the NBA.

The concern I have with Kaminsky is that his domination is based on the fact that he's basically 3 years older and more developed than the competition in college this year, and basically did nothing his first 2 years in school. As polished as he is now, I question whether or not his game can actually grow. He doesn't have the strength or athleticism to be a potential star in the NBA.

To me Kaminsky looks like a rotational stretch 5 in the NBA. He'll have a an impact and a role on a competitive team, but the Knicks shouldn't be looking for role players with the number 1, 2 or 3 picks.

That would be cool. They should go up against each other at the draft combine. Will be nice to see more of Porzingis.

C.Broussard said that some GM's around the league said they see Kaminsky as a backup 4 in the NBA.

Hellz no he won't have the impact that those guys will have. Teams are not sold on him at all. Say he's to slow for the 4 and not big enough for the 5.
