Knicks · Report: Sixers to select D’Angelo Russell in 2015 NBA Draft (page 1)

mreinman @ 4/26/2015 2:30 PM
This would be a great (and smart) pick for them. Hard to believe that a smart guy like Hinkie would go after Mudiay.

Well.....duuuuuuuh.....

Russell should be our pick; LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Monroe our free agent pick ups.

Uptown @ 4/26/2015 2:37 PM
When its all said and done, I can see Russel being one of, if not the best prospect in the draft. I really hope the Knicks get him, somehow. With that said, if Philly doesn't land anywhere in the top 4, they may have to go to plan B...

agreed.

russell is my favorite.

looking at the league and guys like Harden and Curry dominating ... its really a guards league and when was the last time that we had a real guard?

If WD got pick 3 I could be interested in a multi asset trade with Philly if they ended up at 1 as in embiid 3#1s including a 2016 with only top 2 restriction and picks 32 and 35 this year.

I second that...what are we giving the Sixers for three #1's (top 2 prot 2016) and two 2's PLUS Embiid? Sounds like you've gone off the deep end or sumpin.

But yeah, Russel is my second or third overall pick in this draft. If Towns and OK4 are gone, it's a no-brainer. But if get a shot @ Towns, no way I skip that.

If we don't get a top 3 we are completely screwed.

Those last couple of wins brought our chances of getting a top 3 down from 65 -> 55 percent.

If we get #4, things can get ugly (with finger pointing) really fast.

They have so many assets with draft picks and young players to trade up if they really wanted Russell though.
GustavBahler @ 4/26/2015 5:22 PM
Hopefully not if the Knicks can help it. If Phil traded down so that Philly can draft him I would lose it. Do not want to see some Layden like, too clever by half, draft night BS.

well ... if we got back 9 first rounders, embiid, and we get to hang out with the players wives whenever we are board ???

jamp @ 4/26/2015 5:23 PM
If Russell is even half as good as Curry, we better grab him anywhere we pick. Did you see
how Curry just seems to be toying with anyone who guards him. I wanted Towns with the first
pick but now I think I want Russell.

Ohhhh alriiiiight.

nixluva @ 4/26/2015 5:28 PM
I think Phil clearly sees the top 4 as spots where he can get an impact type talent. Towns, OK4, Russell, Winslow or Mudiay. I don't think he's completely made up his mind on that since we still have the combine and workouts to get that final look. I can see Phil trading down form 5 if he thinks he could get a pair of players like Hezonja and Kaminsky or any other combination of prospects that might add more depth.
mreinman @ 4/26/2015 5:29 PM
I have not seem many players with a stroke like this guy. So rare.

Have you seen Tyler Harvey? If the Knicks could get a 2nd rd pick he would be a nice consolation.

BRIGGS @ 4/26/2015 5:50 PM
for Russell at #3 from Philly

Embidd
Picks 32 and 35 2015
2016 #1 restricted to 5 and then top 1 restriction from there on
one of their additional draft picks they picked up in 2016 and one in 2018

so Embidd, 2 number 1's, 32 and 35?

Russell ain't Hershell Walker

I would actually draft Harvey even if I drafted Russell if I was the Knicks. Lol. Philly would actually do that.

If it was just Russell's stroke which made him such a great prospect I could understand if Phil made a deal. But this kid has first rate court vision, and a great handle as well. Hard to see a scenario where we trade a player like that, to a division rival, and not regret it.
