Jahlil Okafor has only been here for four days, but he came in phenomenal shape. As lean as I've ever seen him. Hasn't been vacationing...
Kaminsky working on some pound step back stuff off the dribble. Dirk moves in the post also. Should have a lot of tricks at the next level.

Really don't see how Kaminsky isn't at least Nikola Mirotic at the NBA level. Pure stroke, super mobile, good footwork, high IQ.

Kaminsky putting on an absolute shooting clinic out here. Going to be such a touch cover in the NBA.
Sounds like Kaminsky could move up to slot 3 for us. I could accept that--I think hes better than people think.
Where are those guys working out?

Looks like we'll get some nice info. The more I think about it the more I might just like Kaminsky from 3-5. If you think someone is that good--why take a chance on having some else take him? If he is aggressive he could be a great NBA player.
If we do get Monroe a guy like Kaminsky might make a great deal of sense.
Interesting...
Always thought that Duncan was going to have strength issues in the NBA...seem to recall that he did some weight work before he played in the NBA and was much stronger. Good to hear that OK4 is not "vacationing." (Wouldn't he still be going to classes, by the way...) He's getting rid of his baby fat, I guess.
As for Kaminsky, maybe he is someone Phil would like more than we've been thinking so far. If he shows enough agility to defend at the NBA level he could play at the 4/5 and give any team some great lineup flexibility. Is there anyone with his size who can shoot the way he does? I think he could use some more muscle, by the way, and I'd like to see him be more creative in the post, something OK4 seems to excel at.
https://twitter.com/Mike_Schmitz/status/... This has a 16 second shooting clip from the top of the key. Also some tweets downplaying Kaminsky as a player.
Should be some interesting workouts for our brass to watch.
Would like to hear about Mudiay workouts, since he's the guy I've seen play the least.
LOL, Agents hyping their players has begun.

This doesn't have to be hype. We know every year kids get on serious training and diet programs in prep for the combine. Only makes sense.
As for Kaminsky I really like his NBA potential. He'd fit perfectly in the Triangle. He could be an option if we fall to 4 or 5.
Here is an interesting one
Robert Upshaw 7-1 265 7-6 wingspan
Its one thing to be good in workouts but Id rather be awesome playing 5-5. The guy was a lottery pick before he was dismissed---this is certainly interesting and why final picks are made in June and not in March. Looking forward to video.

Great day in Santa Barbara. Frank Kaminsky had a big time workout. Robert Upshaw was awesome in the 5 on 5s. Lots of interviews. More coming

I keep saying, but I never really got all the talk about OK4 needing to lose weight etc- I thought he looked in shape
Apart from draftexpress, what are some other good sights for pre-draft coverage. I know there's nbadraft.net- is that pretty much it?

I think his college career is going to be remembered more favorably than his pro career. I am sure their or things that he can do that will have him be n the league for a long time. But his frame and strength concern me

I would say so... I personally think nbadraft.net is superior. That said, DX has improved drastically the last few drafts.

I really don't care much for how he's remembered in terms of his college career. IMO Kaminsky is the epitome of a Stretch 4. He's not a Center. As a 7' PF Kaminsky can give a team needed length and scoring. He's got good mobility and I think his game fits the NBA even more than the college game. Bigs with his skill level and BB IQ rarely fail in the NBA.
i love the videos for DX. i think theyre fair. however my one critic is all the minutia details they provide. for example, FG% of curls/FG% going left/FG% going right. all that is cute but the bottom line is if im playing cupcake university then those stats dont mean as much as someone who plays kansas or kentucky

True, but DX also does a good job of highlighting performances against other top prospects and teams. They'll also note how a prospect compares against NBA players who played at a similar level of competition.
DX does a great job overall. that was my only complaint.

At pick 4, one has to trade to try to pick both Kaminsky and Winslow

When I was a young'un you might get a blurb about a prospect in the newspaper every now and then. I know there was a Baseball Digest type of magazine- figure that they there were similar weeklies or monthlies for hoops.
You would never see video unless you caught a game, and not all the games were televised or available.
We are spoiled today.
DX and draftnet are both great... as are the sights for other sports.
I would have had trouble getting HW done back in the day... almost happy they didn't have these "internets."

Yeah, I basically agree with this. If we don't land a top 3 (Towns, OK4, Russel - in that order), then trading down to get Kaminsky +1 might make the most sense, obviously depending on what sort of deals present. I'd even (as BRIGGS suggested) consider using cap space to make a good deal possible and/or discuss trading Melo.
This is a good draft to initiate a rebuild, I'd love to make the most of it and really strive for "new" in New York City.

Yeah, I remember relying on the annual basketball prospectus put out by Rick Barry and Jordan Cohn back in the day. Athlon sports also had a comprehensive scouting report for college and high school players. Those publications are nothing compare d to what's available today.
