But you cant win in the playoffs without the ability to get high% shots. Thats why I harp on rebuilding our frontline to the best in basketball. Drey Green is a great player but is not a 4 who is good for a team unless your C can score and Bogut cant.

And as I posted this Kerr finally whips out Speights.

Kerr was interviewed before tonights's game about the Warrior's D, and commented about the fact that Memphis is one of the few teams with two post players in their starting lineup,(implying that the stretch 4 is the usual thing they face), and that this negates Green's value in the Warrior's defensive switching schemes.

Kind of admitting that their D is predicated on defending the stretch 4 forward, and not one who likes to post up.

Vmart @ 5/9/2015 11:00 PM
ZBo is an all rounder. He can do it all if he has to he can take it outside too.

Rose said it during the half time show. The league is homogenized but Memphis doesn't fit the mold. If Memphis goes all the way it will be interesting to see if they are copied.

exactly...but i need to see kerr make some adjustments...sure he likes to play small ball...but once u realize that theyre a bigger team then DOUBLE...make allen shoot.THATS how they got the lead down...they started doubling and making others hit outside shots.

YEP thats why Ive been posting about the potential value of picking up a second pick in this draft. The guards we can find--the bigs are much tougher. . Im talking 20-10 ability at both positions. Then you fill around with guards who can both shoot and penetrate/play D.

If things hold out and who knows right? but LAC and Memphis will be a really nice series to watch.

Memphis also played 9 and got value out of 9. Depth is important too. Kuofas 4-4 in limited minutes

The story you are ignoring is that Memphis held GS to 89 points..
nixluva @ 5/10/2015 12:22 AM
Memphis is closer to the direction Phil is trying to take the Knicks. Obviously we're a long way from that at this moment. It looks a lot different when you have quality players who can not only defend but score effectively. He's not trying to follow the rest of the league in terms of how he builds the team or style of play. If he's successful he'll have a team that can function well in the regular season and also in the post season.
holfresh @ 5/10/2015 12:35 AM
All said, GS is a very good team..They ain't going down without a fight..
smackeddog @ 5/10/2015 5:14 AM
But... but... I thought it was all about spacing and the traditional PF was dead!
franco12 @ 5/10/2015 5:37 AM
If only we had a power forward like Zach Randolph!

Only in NY can a 20 and 12 player be rendered useless.

We had Eddy Curry and David Lee- there is no way in hell those 3 players could play together. Applaud IT for his complete inability to create a team (Marbury and Francis- another brilliant pairing). I always liked Zach though.

Greg Monroe is the guy we need. Post scoring, good passing, good rebounding. These are the guys that help you win in the playoffs.

Greg Monroe wouldn't play much for Memphis with his defense. He plays a nice brand of old school offense I can appreciate. But you aren't going to go very far in the playoffs if your bigs don't defend as well.

Right now Monroe looks like the best option in free agency for attainable bigs.

callmened @ 5/10/2015 7:26 PM

He's probably a better defender than Randolph. He's not a great defender but he's average at worst.

If only we had a "1st Team Defensive" player like Tony Allen.
