Is Russell wearing high heels. They gave him nearly two inches in shoes.
Christmas almost has the same wingspan as Upshaw and is projected to go 45th on draftnet.
Wongspan sounds like a measurement at the annual San Fernando Valley Future Porn Star Combine

I always found it silly that they listed player heights in shoes when people can buy different shoes.

All heights should be the w/o shoes height. Any other listed height is a waste of time.
I'm about 5'10"...just wish I would have been at the combine with some thicker sneakers so I could be listed at 6ft, the height I always wanted to reach.

Or insoles....since i tore both achilles im now a legit 6'0 and sometimes 6'1
Im 5'10 without shoes. I have heel lifts to shorten my achilles length to prevent anotger tear. Jason terry wears 4 pairs of socks to give him more height.

It's funny but I always thought they should measure eye height and arm length. Who cares how high the top of your head is? I want to know if a player can play taller than his head height would suggest. I like players long and athletic.
I believe the extra height from "standard" people on shoes is because they have wraps to prevent injuries/ankle support
it looks like Russell is surely not going to go past 3-4 with his measurements
and
With the measurements,
George de Paula could be reached higher than his current mid/late 2nd rounder projected mocked drafts, as we continue to see how Dennis Schroedder has improved his weakness's in this playoffs
Though the development of George de Paula has nothing to do with Dennis Schroedder, I can see the GM's trying to get the next "Dirk" KG or Westbrook and take that chance as high as a late 1st rounder or early 2nd rounder *with a couple teams with a couple of high 2nd rounders to be at least a stash*

I agree but all the listings you see for players are with shoes on.

Saw Russell use his wingspan on defense in the tourney, in the paint. Hope he's our pick.
what are good wingspans relative to height?
what are good wingspans relative to height?

Keeps the ball higher when shooting, makes it easier to block shots.

i know the BENEFITS for a longer wingspan...i just want to know whats considered short or long relative to height
for example...is a 6-9 wingspan for a 6-6 wing a good measurement?

Its just another number... but average is your height.
Check out the history:
http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre-draf...
Its like height, vertical leap, lane agility, etc etc... just another number, but sometimes that # is part of a bigger picture. Certainly a long wingspan can make up for a percieved lack of height. Anything 7'0 or more is good, 7'2 is impressive and 7'4 is an impressively long player.

My bad, I saw "what good are". I know that Russell has long arms for his height, not sure if there is a chart to refer to.

thats not bad... A couple "wingspan" players are Tayshaun Prince at 6'8 with a 7'2 wingspan. Durant is 6'9 with an insane 7'4 wingspan. Hasson Whiteside has one of the longest in the database at 7'7. Interestingly OK4 is measured at 7'6.5
