Knicks · At what point is Chris Paul criticized for lack of success? (page 1)
very hard to pin the losses on him because he always plays great.
when they lose with him shooting 10-30 then he will get a crap load of blame

I don't know man the other thread is pissing on Blake Griffin and he put up a decent game.

he did have a decent game but decent was far from enough.
I called him out in the other thread for only taking 2 FT's.
Your star Power Forward in a close out game has to do better than that. I felt that DJ was much better than Blake but he is has his own flaws.

When do you chalk it up that the better team won. These two teams were very close in many ways. Clippers lost in game 6 no way they were going to win in Houston. Kinda like you knew the Mets were going to win game 7 once the ball went through Buckners legs in game 6.

I was rooting for Houston in a big way but I did not think that they would beat LA.
Houston won with a lot of help from guys like Prigs, brewer and stinky josh smith.
I think that Mchale out coached Doc (though I love doc) and Harden was a matchup nightmare for them, the guy seems to get to the line at will (though LA really made it tough for him and did a decent job in slowing him down, especially when they switched CP3 onto him).
Howard was really good at times too but is he really better than DJ?
Crawford stunk
Reddick was not good today
Barnes was a complete no show
Austin Rivers is a vet min player
That Houston team seems to have good synergy and seem to like and respect each other.
Melo on the other hand doesn't lead, pass or defend like Paul and in terms of B-Ball IQ Paul dwarfs Melo.

Yes. All pretty true (though I don't think that his defense is as bad as many around here think.)

not really trying to defend melo at all but... when has melo ever played with a guy like blake griffin or deandre jordan? all of pauls b-ball iq isn't enough to lead those guys further than the 2nd round of the playoffs? not to mention guys like reddick, barnes, crawford aren't even close to the kind of guys melo has ever played with. i think paul takes a HUGE hit this year with this loss, the clippers were/are arguably the 2nd best team in the west and they bow out early. instead of talking shit to dwight howard (who i hate) paul should have been more concerned with preserving a 16pt 4th guarter game 6 lead.

Melo's had a lot of all-stars and even Olympians over the years. I bet Iverson and maybe even Billups have a better shot at being in the HOF than Griffin and Jordan will. Billups was even a top 5 MVP candidate playing with Melo.

Every team with home field moved on. If Clippers had won you could say they have good synergy too. They were so close to closing it out and to basically give it away had to be hard for them to take. Besides I think the Clippers took the fall in game six for the league and networks. Next series should good with GS and Houston.

thanks for the breaking news bonn. you despise iverson, so giving him as an example isn't really saying much. billups fine, he played well in denver. but to say billups and iverson (as they were late in their careers) equate to what griffin and jordan are, is quite silly.

Despise? No - He was a good but not great player. Griffin and Jordan are good but deeply flawed. It would be crazy to take them over Billups in his league MVP level season. You're taking the good player over the league MVP just as a desperate way to praise Melo.

desperate way to praise melo? sorry sir, i could care less what anyone says about melo, just stating the facts as i see them. and it's about time chris paul takes some shots to the chin (just as melo has) for his teams failures.

why? CP3 had an allword off season. He did everything he could ... lets not sneak and find ways to bring CP3 into the same car as Melo.

Yeah nothing he has ever had competes with blake. Blake looked like an MVP when Paul was out in the playoffs. Melo never had someone who could take over at that level.

top 5 MVP candidate and NBA finals MVP doesn't count?
Iverson was not capable of taking games over on a level of Blake Griffin? Really?

When Melo teamed up with Billups, they went to the conference finals...When Melo teamed with a bunch of role players, stiffs and past their prime players, his teams did not advance...I believe this was the point that NYK was making. The one time Melo played with a top 5 MVP candidate, they advanced as far they could before losing to the better team....
