WCS would help make up for Melo's limited range as well as anyone else we add who may not have the best defensive quickness. Also he's not as bad offensively as some may think. He has great hands and can finish above the rim. WCS even has a little mid range. I don't think it's impossible for him to add to his offensive repertoire with more work. He wouldn't be the 1st player to add to his skills.
People tend to undervalue defensive talent, which is understandable in today's NBA. Still this team can't keep going without addressing the D and Phil has said it's his top priority.
Phil will be able to find more big Combo guards but an elite defensive big that can guard all five positions is much harder to come across.

No way you take a WCS up that high. Take Mudiay who I think will be gone at 3. So take Hezonja or Russell. Play it safe take the players that are suppose to be taken.
Id rather draft Rakeem Christmas as a C at 34 than take Willie Stein at 4.
You know what---I wouldnt doubt that Rakeem Christmas is one of the draft's most successful players to start off his NBA career. Hes a 4 year player who improved dramatically and one thing you could see so easily in Chicago is the confidence and polish he had. He was smoooooth. He's a 4 man who can play 5 and he has some offensive upside not previously noticed with a VET nice mid range jumpshot. Those long arms he has allow him to use a variety of smooth moves to score while also being a guy who can help block/alter shots rebounding etc... I think you'll see in SL that he is better right off the bat than most lottery picks not named Towns or Okafor.

he's great on defense against college players. I agree he's great on switches and against the P&R. He's half a player and his total lack of desire or caring on offense should be just as big a red flag as a guy who doesnt care about defense.

He is not a focal point of the offense.
based on that assessment, maybe based on the final game, he should drop to the 2nd round.
Comparing him to kaminsky is silly. Kaminsky can't defend and WCS can't score.
And, we both know that WCS goes higher than kaminsky.

Maybe because Calapari offense sucks and is unimaginative. There offense lacked pacing, with a power forward playing 3. In the nba he'll get more spacing, somewhat do to the longer 3or line and maybe because he goes to a 1 -4 out team.
Also, who counts one game as a career?
By the way I'm not even a Stein fan but hopefully biding war starts for him or mudiay and the Knicks use it to their advantage.
