Looks like Phil getting slightly defensive after the press and some fans got on his case about the earlier tweets that came off as sour grapes.

It isnt controversial, but it's clear Phil has lost some brain waves. No team just jacks up threes, especially none of the ones currently in the playoffs now. All these teams attack the basket, score decently in the paint and kick out to the three.
What is more telling is Phil feels he needs to defend himself on twitter of all places. Build a better team, that will prove beyond anything he can say.

Inconsistent players can be found ever year. I remember Shump helped us beat the Celtics three seasons ago and I hoped he would turn the corner. So far Shump has been player who follows one with above average play with another sub par season. I'm glad Shump is playing well now, he still hasn't proven that he's dependable enough to start on most rosters.
He doesnt have to start on most rosters, to be honest nobody on our team are starters on any team but ours outside of Melo. What Shumpert is though is a good cheap cost role player. We might have to pay upwards of 10 mil to replace a dude that likely wont get 5. Thats stupid to an art.

Phil didn't want to trade Shump but in the end it got rid of JR's cap hit and we should be able to replace Shump with another 3nD guard. A $10 mil 3nD would have to be a much more consistent player than Shump to pay that much. Shump is having a great playoff run. Good for him. We have to move on.

I actually have no qualms with moving either player, but just because you pay more dont mean you get more. Shump actually plays better in the playoffs, thats not the norm for most players regardless of role.
Well u are actually losing JR at 6m and Shump 4m because u added Calderon at 7m..

That's not how that works since they would just be added on top of Jose's salary and not instead of it. Jose is just holding the spot until 2016 when we need that extra cap space to go after a Max player. He's just one of those moves you have to swallow for now. You don't have to like it but acceptance is required. There's enough money to get an impact player and that's all I care about. We need Phil to upgrade the starting lineup and we should have enough money to get that done. We know the names out there. It just a matter of which guys Phil ends up bringing in.
Once they settle on a Draft pick that will setup Free Agency and the dominos begin to fall. It's getting closer and won't be long before we know what the final product will be.

First of all, saying a player's contract is "holding a spot" for a different player in the future is stupid. Second of all, Calderon's contract runs through 2016 and doesn't come off the books until the Summer of 2017.

It's not his contract alone but his contract plus the increase in cap space. I know exactly when Jose's contract ends. I'm saying that Phil will either move his contract or Stretch him in order to create a little more room. I don't think he's sees a way to do that at this point so he's going to be on the cap. He wasn't able to move his contract this year and I doubt he'll be able to move it this summer either. I think he sees it being more doable at the trade deadline or after next season. That's what I mean by Jose holding the spot. He's not part of the future but he's here for the time being.
This is the second time Phil has talked about getting players who can penetrate (last time he specifically mentioned guards), so I guess thats his priority this offseasn. however, I can't actually think of any guard who can do that who are available in free agency, unless I'm over looking one. So does that mean he's trading for one or we're drafting one?
Phil is more concerned with proving he's right than anything else. I'm sure that'll be great for the Knicks franchise.
Oh well. He's old, he'll retire soon. Isiah might right the ship in 2018 - who knows!
I remember when calderon was this leader and perfect fit. "oooohhh we've never had such a player like calderon"
Man shut up.

He didn't know the guy was going to be injured before the season even started. Jose was recently playing at a pretty good level offensively. No one expected him to suddenly not be able to shoot the 3 when he was so good at it in his career. As for the Leadership part that was mostly about his locker room presence and his steady play on the floor. At his age no one is saying he was supposed to be CP3 or John Wall. Besides there was more wrong with the team than one player could solve.
Jose was supposed to play the Paxson, Kerr, Armstrong, Fisher role and pop 3's. JR was supposed to play the Kobe Role as the attacking offensive guard. etc.
This season was mostly a test to see who fit and who didn't. They could've just played PnR basketball to hide the truth but that wouldn't have solved anything. They needed to see who could play system basketball and who needed to go.
Now we will see what Phil is able to do in remaking the top of the rotation. This was always going to be a big summer. It's just more of a rebuild than they originally hoped was necessary.
I hate twitter to begin with so all these tweets he has done does get tiresome/annoying. I kinda wish he would ust shut up and focus on the enormous task at hand. lets face it Phil has A LOT of work to do and he is still inexperienced in this position
Putting the other team in foul trouble is more valuable than a 3pt shot. And1 is the most valuable play in the game. You start the game early with drives to draw fouls. You still need threes to spread the floor and punish doubles. Put the other teams players on the bench. Make them change their game plan.

You know nix i always respect your opinion, but you are absolutely running out of excuses for phil and fisher. you want to give them the benefit of the doubt so bad, it's like thats your DAD or something.
Phil has been wrong about EVERY single move he's made, right up to tanking only to land the 4th pick. But you still have all the faith in the world, trust me when i tell you, the list of faith fulls is dropping off fast.
I'll give you until the end of the yr before you jump off the wagon
