Id like players who are smart play two way basketball and have similarities to what the San Antonio Spurs and GS WArriors have.

We have 26-32mm to spend on assets and pick #4. The guys we have on the team do not really hold to my standard of what I would look for.

Im willing to accept this as a three year process. I dont need to throw a bunch of veterans together that will burn out in 2-3 years leaving the cupboard dry again. I dont mind getting stop gap players--say a Joe Johnson gets cut--something of that ilk so we can be more competitive for 2016.

So right now its culture character skills playoffs.

Once you start putting your type of player in there--just like the Spurs--its easier to keep restocking. Its much harder if you are in constant change--change of coach change of play change of play(ers). Stay away from guys like Lance Stephenson who doesnt get a long with his teammates or Rajon Rondo who wont listen to his coach. We are in NYC so we have been shown guys like JR Smith arent willing to just play basketball here.
You want guys who want to be in the gym--guys who want to work on their game. Stay away from Diva personalities.

I think the Knicks for the most part have done somewhat poorly interjecting foreign players on to this team. I think we need to start doing this--maybe at a pace of one per year

At this point of acquisition I definitely want 75% of the team to be young--as in below 25. You need to have a core to build into that will sustain a level of play over time. If we get 10 30 year old players--we'll just be back here in 3 years at stage 1 again.

he played 62 games last year. His shooting percentages were not good so I that would need to return to form.

I love Wade's heart and I hated watching him destroy the Knicks all those years... but I think his knees are shot. He looked noticeably slower. His shooting % was down because he can't create that separation anymore - he doesn't get those wide open mid-range looks and he can't attack the rim. he's taking contested shots or has to be set up to shoot now. he's not the same guy, which is why Riles is lowballing him.
