What we had Id give up. I dont think Minny would take it--but I would offer. I dont know if KG likes Melo something about cereal there. But seriously I would offer this package. Out of anything that has been said--this makes the most sense. Seems flip has some man love for Kristapas Porzinigis and that his guy at 4. Add in Carmelo and a rare bird like an unrestricted pick and I think theyd atleast have to huddle up on that.
Melo has a no trade clause. He'd have to agree. He wouldn't.
crzymdups wrote:Melo has a no trade clause. He'd have to agree. He wouldn't.
Thyed have a heck of a team there and I think melo has a trade kicker of 20mm or something like that.
Karl Towns is going to a transcended player but I dont think Minnesota quite grasps this yet.

Rubio>Calderon
1>4
The trade exemption that life changing for Minny?
Then lets look at Rubio as Triangle member. While the kid has good height and great passing instincts the fact is his shot is not that good. If it were, Minny would be happy. if Minny was happy, Rubio would be happy.
Knicks1969, I don't see where Minny benefits? Perhaps you see Rubio as a "dump"?
Rubio currently has a very bad contract he signed last season and Minny not only needs to make rooms to re-sign Levine and Wiggins, they will still have an opportunity to replace Rubio with a cheaper, and more athletically gifted player like Russell or Mudiay.
I don't give a poop about Rubio, I just want an opportunity to draft Towns since our coaching staff was to inept to lose the last two games.
So Rubio has a very bad contract and you think it's a good idea for the Knicks to take on that contract at a time that we just finally got out of two very bad contracts??

Thats ok but the Knicks would win that trade by five miles.

This makes the most sense to you and you might get a couple of over reactors to agree with you but not many.
Yes to complete this deal Jackson just needs to get Flip Saunders alone somewhere where he can administer a dose of Scopolamine powerful enough to manipulate the now zombified Flip into writing up the offer sheet. Either that or have some former spetnaz turned black op mercenaries kidnap Flip's family and then predicate their safe return on pulling off this deal.
Easy enough. Make it happen, Phil.

Melo isn't going to finish out his career in the wilds of Minnesota, man. He'd accept a trade to either LA team. Maybe Chicago.

and Melo waives his no trade for to go? Cmon.. why bother?
And I understand your logic.. a true franchise player is the most coveted thing, but your left with a 19 year old a couple years from away from being ready, your missing two first rounders to add talent, and you have no roster to field a team with. Then god forbid the guy gets hurt (it happens see Oden among others) youve set the franchise back a decade. There is no hedge there or reality with any trade regarding Melo that doesnt have him going to LA
Melo + Cole to LA for pick #2, Jordan Hill and Nick Young. Then the Lakers can send out Kobe, Melo, Rondo, Randle and Cole out there and have some fun.
Knicks get a couple decent rotation guys and can draft a pair of very good players at #2 and #4. Ironically my guess would be OK4 and Winslow, but whatever... you have options. Maybe you trade the 4 pick down for many assets. Thats got a bit of a chance no?

So let me see
A 19 year old 7-260 pound PF who will be unguardable on offense and will be a major building block for a superior defense for lets say Porzinigis Anthony and someone from the year 2018? We have NO chance zero none nada chance of winning a title in the next 3 years with Anthony none zero niet. This gives Anthony a chance to play with a better team and gives the Knicks perhaps the best player they will ever have.

That's more in the realm of possibility... but I don't see Dolan letting Melo go.

I don't think LA takes that deal but they might bite on Melo + 4 for pick 2, pick 27, nick young and a future 1st (top 10 protected).

You have to give to get. I would much rather put up with a 24 year old floor general the the garbage on our roster. The main premise of this trade is to be able to draft Towns. I could care less about anyone else

when the cap blows up, won't they have room then? They still have a few years.
I am just saying, it is an option that the Knicks should pursue. I am not saying it will go through, but it won't hurt to try. You never know, we might be successful
you started a thread, and now when asked to further elaborate you just shrug your shoulders? "it won't hurt to try"? Are you freaking kidding me? What self empowered delusion world do you think we even have any influence over anything? "you never know?" This is not Ebay bro. it does hurt actually if you make clown like calls to other teams wasting time. You lose respect.

Towns is going to be the real deal. As we've discussed ad infinitum, every single player at Kentucky had their stats held down because that team had 10 guys on it who will probably make it to the NBA someday. Or would have if they went to a smaller school and were able to put up big stats.
I wonder what people would say if D'Angelo Russell went to Kentucky (they wanted him) and put up 10pts 5apt like Andrew Harrison did? You can't just put up stats in a vacuum on a loaded team like that. That's part of why Stein, Towns, Lyles, Harrison, etc, all get underrated, I think.
