This game really looked Melo esque!I think this is a clear example of what happens when you don't have the needed help to push through tough times.
yeah and at least lebron can still put up stats with a weak cast.

where was he in the pregame??

The reasons people don't like Lebron is for things he does off the court not on it. Now the people that don't like him for what he does on the court are the people that are idiots.
Im an idiot then. Do you remember his dramatic flailing in pain in his neck when he ran into Tyson? Looked like he might have to come out on a stretcher. Good for a flagrant. Oh... wait... 7 minutes have gone by and now Lebron is dunking from the foul line.Yea.. Im an idiot. Im offended by his flopping. The best player in the NBA cant just play the game? Watching Lebron is like watching the world cup. Sure.. your seeing the best soccer players in the world. And the worst acting at the same time. Sucks.
Ehhh...If flopping is the only blip on his record he's ahead of the game when you compare that to the on and off court track records of MJ, Kobe, Bird, Magic, etc...As far as flopping is concerned, its an issue in all sports when players try to sell a call..Wade does it, Harden, Starks...football players, etc. Not a reason for some to hate a guy but to each his own...

Ginobli is the king and for some reason everyone still loves him.
Melo should learn how to flop and stop being so macho
I was impressed by Mozgov last night. And Thompson.
To me the play of Igoudala on both ends turned the game.

Iggy was the star of the game. He is so underrated. he is scottie pippen

JR and Shump quickly reminded us of why they were traded (although i still think we got raped)
shump was still flying down the court for a 20 foot pull up brick
JR back to his now you see me in the 1st half, now you don't in the 2nd half.
Labron is just not as clutch as he should be for his level of talent
do you know how many clutch shots kobe missed in his career? Do you know what his shooting percentage was in clutch situations?
I'm not just talking shots, I'm talking overall decision making

agree.... but Lebron has taken it to a new level. Plus the leaving Cle to play with superfriends. Would MJ, Bird or Magic have left their teams to go play with other 'stars' so they could more easily win?
As for the flopping I won lie.. it really came down to that Knick series and the Tyson elbow to his neck. I mean it wasnt a flop, he was laying on the floor clutching his neck like he needed to be taken off with a stretcher. I was like my god, this is terrible... trainers were out looking at him. Tyson got a flagrant. Then Lebron got up and went back to playing at his normal incredible level. Its one thing to try and get calls, its another to fake pain, flopp around on the floor, have trainers come out, get a flagrant then resume normal play. Lack of integrity.
You will never hear me say he's not the best of our generation, but he's not sniffing MJ or Bird. Those guys had the greatest killer instincts. Sorry... I just cant stand the guy.

I think Kobe game ending shots are in the 30% range.
Lebron grew up after the loss to dallas in Miami. Dude was an ass.
For all its worth, Jordan was on a team that won 55 games without him. Thats still was a good team.
For all its worth, Jordan off the court was awful but greatest media love ever in the modern age.
For all its worth, Jordan retired mid career? Why? Sociopathic burnout? Asked by stern to get his gambling in line? Extortion? Father mysterious Murder? WTF was his retirement about??
For all its worth I do consider Jordan the golden standard for non centers and perhaps with Bill Russell the greatest winner(s) of all time!
For all its worth, Phil was his coach for all his championships and none was won before Phil or after.
For all its worth, Bulls run was 20 years ago. League has changed, finance has made rosters with greater parity.
I admire Lebrons work. Don't have to like the man. Jordan was not a nice person. Lebron's misteps was born from arrogance and immaturity.

Fair enough...Paul Pierce pulled the same act when he left in a wheelchair and returned moments later..lol. Its hard to compare LeBron and the mentality of today's athlete with yester-years athletes...its a different game in more ways than one.
I think LeBron saw the big three in Boston and how they were assembled and knew they only was to beat them was to form his own big three and he was right because they beat the Celts and he won his 'chips. At the team it seemed like it would be the latest trend. It would be one thing if LeBron went to Miami and rode the coat tails of DWade to a chip, but that wasn't the case. LeBron went to southbeach, was clearly the best player and took over the team and won finals MVP's....
BTW, Barkley and Malone pretty much did the same thing late in their careers. Barkley went to a championship team in Houston to join Dream and Clyde in an attempt to get a chip and nobody criticized him. Mailman joined the Lakers who were the dominant team at the time to win a chip and nobody critiqued them....At the time neither Barkley or Malone were the best player on their new teams and it was obvious why they joined those teams. If people critiques LeBron for that, then Barkley and Malone deserve criticism too, regardless if they were at the end of their careers....
Also, Oscar Robertson was traded to the Bucks to win a chip with Kareem...This was before Free Agnecy but the trade was for obvious reasons....
callmened wrote:where was lebron in overtime?great great player but where was he in overtime?
So this Cavs team makes it to the Finals without Lebron? Do they make it to overtime against the Warriors, a wreckingball of a team completing a historic season of offensive and defensive efficiency, without Lebron?
He did everything humanly possible to get the Cavs a W. Some of his missed shots happened in overtime. Irrelevant. The guy is amazing and dragged a team with 7 1/2 healthy players (who arent even above average besides Kyrie) to the freaking finals.
Bron was calling his number too much last night..He can't beat the Warriors by himself..The first point of the game Tristan Thompson posted Draymond Green in the lane and shot the ball easily over him..They never went back to that...I thought that was the game plan..
Awesome performance.
He almost willed it to happen. Irving going out really hurts.
I agree with the post that Igoudala was the underrated difference in the game. Cleveland got nothing from their bench - that killed them. Lebron is full of himself - but he definitely is the best player in the game today. He did what he could but his jump shot is not consistent enough to carry this group by himself in the finals. If the defense walls off the middle, he can still drive and score but eventually he will get fatigued and drift out for jump shots. It then becomes hit or miss.
I think this would have been a classic series if both of these teams were at full strength. Too bad!
I don't see how running yourself into the ground for 3 and half quarters, then by games end you have no lift, your teammates are out of sync, the defense starts to rev up, and by late forth your done. no player should have to take 38 shots

You needed the 9/10 assist Lebron, yesterday.
Add to this a poorly designed last play in regulation.
Yeah, better to take the last shot so GS has no chance to retaliate, but you needed to get him the ball when he was closer to the basket, or even bring in someone to set a screen for him.
Maybe Irving should have had the ball at the end. What about a 2 man game with him and James?
They win in regulation (or lose, for that matter), and Irving is not injured, and the series takes on a new look.

all fair points... I do disagree w/ the Barkley/Malone thing. Chasing a title in the twilight of your career is different than leaving your hometown in your prime to build your own superfriends... but you nailed it man. Im 42 years old and officially old fashioned! Im too old school I guess. The Boston big 3 were built by Ainge. The Heat big 3 where players colluding to set up a winning situation where they all have yet to prove they cant do organically.
Hey... Im like Were the Millers cat... "Lebron? Yea.. shes likes primadonnas who will never be as good as Jordan"
