On his video he shoots a lot better than Mudiay.

Yeah I saw a partial version of this workout but I found the full shooting video. His release is slow but the results and form are good.

He's putting in work. He's got good form. His release seems to have a little hesitation in it - it's not one clean motion yet, but he can get there with reps.

I think it's good he's working out with Towns and Russell. Good influences.

If he can get as consistent as say Kurt Thomas with that mid-range jumper in pick and pop situations, he will at least not be a minus on offense. I like the kid, we'll see what happens.

If we listen to Francesa, the Knicks don't like him. Who knows.

The motion is ok if hes open--but hed have trouble getting it off if someone was on him. Thats probably why he changes form. Still you give credit where its due and he improved. The problem is he has 3 years of in game offensive ineptitude he's fighting against.

BRIGGS you do realize I've been posting this video and others in the other threads on WCS? I posted another video that was from his workout in Denver and he shot just as well there. That video wasn't as good but the reports of his shooting were.

WCS should be able to get it off when he faces up because of his fast 1st step. He'll get some respect from defenders after he blows by a few guys for dunks. That will open up room for his jumper. Plus he's 7' tall. It's not like there are going to be a lot people out there that will be able to just block his jump shot.

smackeddog @ 6/9/2015 6:01 PM
Man, look at the ok4 lakers nation vid from today's workout- he messes up his footwork on every single jump shot- his shooting looks even worse than Mudiay! WCS looks like Allan Houston in comparison to all these other work out vids

Where is the video? Thanks.

BRIGGS and others have been killing those of us who support WCS over his shooting and just comparing OK4 to WCS I prefer the way WCS is shooting it. If he keeps working on it WCS should really be able to become effective with it. He looks much more comfortable shooting than OK4. OK4 obviously is a low post big, but in general I wouldn't have as much confidence in him away from the basket as I do WCS.
CrushAlot @ 6/9/2015 6:12 PM
^^^^^Thanks. That was rough.

That is a whacky thing he's got going on with his feet before he can release a jump shot -- very odd. Shot itself doesn't look that bad though despite a bunch of misses.

wonder if they cut that video short after roughly 1.5 minutes because it kept getting worse.
crzymdups @ 6/9/2015 6:16 PM
Are there any tapes of Winslow shooting in a workout setting anywhere?

Exactly right--why would I want my 6-11 265 pound C taking anything more than a mid range j or post up? They shouldve schooled him in the mid range instead of the 3 pt its a different trajectory. Keep him where he plays 14 feet and in.

We might get some footage after Winslow works out for Denver Wednesday.

jbeachboy @ 6/9/2015 6:30 PM
does he have post game or hook shot? you want to take him over winslow and mudiay?

WTF BRIGGS? I posted this very same video in a couple of threads the day it was released! I referred to it directly. How is it you missed that? As for his release I think it's just fine. He should only be taking open jumpers anyway. He's not going to go from not shooting much at all to actually challenging defenders with his jumper.

Don't forget also that he has a very quick 1st step and will probably use that to create space. He'll have to blow by some centers a few times in order to get respect for his quickness before he'll be able to get defenders to back off a bit on his face ups.

WCS has a good jump hook. He just needs to keep working on his offensive execution. He's got the physical talent to be a decent offensive player.

I do prefer taking WCS over Winslow or Mudiay. I think his defense will completely transform the Knicks team D. IMO that's more important than anything else at this point. The Knicks had the 28th ranked defense. No amount of added scoring will fix that.

JoeyBagadonuts @ 6/9/2015 6:55 PM
Ya gotta admit it would be just our luck if the WCS "consolation prize" we were arguing about now gets snatched out from under us, becomes the next level star of the draft and we end up with a dud.
