The New York Knicks are in active discussions offering cash considerations to acquire a draft pick in the late first-round to early second-round range, sources told RealGM.

The Knicks have worked out several players, including France’s Mam Jaiteh, selling the potential that the team will push hard to acquire a pick in their range.

Jaiteh, a 6-foot-11 big man, has intrigued the Knicks and is a rising prospect whose workout circuit includes 12 visits in 19 days. He isn’t expected to fall past the mid-second round, and has accelerated within teams’ draft rankings — including the Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers.

New York, sources said, will soon also work out forward Richaun Holmes out of Bowling Green. Holmes used the Portsmouth Invitational to ascend onto draft boards and into first-round predraft workouts.

I dont know if Thanasis or Early become good NBA players or rotation guys or not, but Galloway certainly is and its great to see them really commited to bringing in and developing their own talent.

I dont accept taking another raw player--even rd 2 this year if we get a pick. Been there done that. My hope is we can get Fuzaro--he really looks like a guy we could groom as a sixth man of the year type. Also some other interesting possibilities with slips/falls. NO way Mickey falls he could go as high as 16 IMHO.

Might mean that Phil isn't trading down.

i think the knicks advanced scouting has proven to do a good job.. hopefully these same guys can do as good of a job with our top pick. definitely like the fact we're looking at getting other picks to replenish the dleague though.. as you said galloway was a great get, so hopefully we can continue that trend.

There is some balance... how many raw athletic guys do we have? 1? I dont see many aside from Thanasis. Raw generally means longer learning curve and higher upside. More polished and skilled means you have some very big holes in your game or athletic hurdles to overcome. Just let the scouts do their jobs. The Knicks are going to add a LOT of players. Some will be raw and projects.
