Knicks · Porzingis Workout Video at Las Vegas (page 7)

Porzingis is the best gamble in terms of landing the 2nd best player in the draft. Moreso than Mudiay imo

Real talk? There's probably only about a one-third chance this pick will be an all star. Doesn't matter if it's a Euro, high schooler, freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. http://www.draftexpress.com/NBA-draft-pi...

Never have looked at that feature on DraftExpress... and it would seem that I am not the only one.

If Porzingis cracks the top 3 people on UK should be on their knees kissing his feet and thanking him for getting us Russell or, more probably, OK4.

Who knows what Phil thinks of Porzingis, but I think we get a guy with star potential no matter what happens now.

the guy didn't do anything outside of what he was known to be good at it... all the questions about him are when other players are on the floor with him.. rebounding, handling the ball, passing...

he will be 20 before the start of the season... he's the same age as most college sophs coming out..

It's a workout in front of the entire nba and he should've been sitting his pants and he went out and probably had the best individual workout any one has seen this pre draft. All of that pressure and kid aces it you think he is going 1-4 against Wisconsin? Or more like 17 points 8 rebounds 6 blocks.

I remember you once put a YouTube of Jordan Hill it was crazy watching Hill drop buckets from everywhere on the floor he was shooting threes, post and all. Prozingis will be at best a decent player. Not worth the risk that these guys carry with them he isn't a high ceiling player.

It didn't look anywhere near as impressive as Porzingis's- Hill is slow in that vid and has short arms. The knock on Hill has always been his lack of effort and motor, anyways- I remember one reporter watched Hill go up against Darko in practice and said they had never seen such a complete lack of effort or intensity.

Again, Bargs problem isn't talent, its effort, attitude and that vacant stare of his that drains the life out of the team and the viewer. These aren't problems with Porzingis. Bargs with a good work ethic would likely have been a much better player.

this whole thing makes me nervous... i can live with mudiay altho i wouldn't be entirely happy... porzingis and lyles i would not be able to stand to watch the impending disaster...

Scouts from lots of teams have been following him all season- he isn't just a flash in the pan, they have a wealth of data on him, that likely they will be trawling through following the workout.

Since Darko right.

Again Darko's problem was mental & attitude, not talent

How many good Euro big men have there been very few. Euro bigs are serviceable at best and no way Prozingis should be considered so high.

Anyone wanna make a bet with me that AT BEST he becomes another Bargnani?

I'll take that bet....I dont think he would even be that good. Bargs right now will give you what this guy woukd give you. And bargs is past his prime.

It depends on situation. If he goes to a team looking for him to be there franchise player then he may end up struggling. If he goes to a team that has some young talent already and he is apart of the equation then he could probably shine in a few yrs.

So the drafting team's expectations will determine his career?

It could effect it. Nothing is set in stone though obviously. Reduced expectations and patience in development usually work better then the opposite though.

How much does Anthony Davis weigh?
nixluva @ 6/14/2015 10:19 AM
Bargs can defend NBA Centers. It'll be years before we see this kid able to defend big like Bargs. Bargs may not be much of a help defender but he's one of the better man defenders at center. He was able to do that from early on. People just never paid attention to that part of his game because of his horrendous help defense.
jbeachboy @ 6/14/2015 4:52 PM
this kid is like a 4 year project

This kid is still 19.

At 19 he played in the 2nd best league in the world. On his team he was 2nd in PPG, 2nd in rebounding and 1st in blocked shots.

He was named rising star of that league --- the kid can play when he's not in the back-yard.

Are you sure? From what some are saying around here, I had assumed that he was a Latvian volleyball player until 6 months ago.

Im sure you're also 19 years old 7-1 220 with a 7-6 wingspan and a 37 inch vertical and while the C on your team resembles George Constanza he is actually playing against other high quality 7 footers.

I am on this boat. I want Porzingis for the 4th pick. Now I am worried that he will get picked and end up with Russell.

ha. true. i'm just saying, while i was also enamored with the video when it surfaced earlier in the week, i couldn't help but think this weekend as i was dominating my game of 1 on zero how dicieving it can be.

not an original thought, i know.
