Knicks · J.R. Smith blatantly zoned out during David Blatt's halftime speech of game 7 (page 4)
StarksEwing1 wrote:Still turned out to be a good deal for cleveland. They got shump and smith basically for free and they dont have to worry about jr smith being on the books since he is gonna opt out
And who is going to replace his scoring off the bench?
Cle did not expect that fell down of Love and Irving so I bet their initial idea was to put JR as 4th to 5th option. That was not wrong at all.
GustavBahler wrote:Im amazed anyone is still defending JR at this point, how many times does he have to let a team down when they really need him the most to finally admit that he cant be trusted? 1st option, second option, twelfth option, doesnt matter, Smith always burns his team when it matters most.
No one is defending his play in the finals.
Do you think the Cavs would not do that trade with us knowing what they know now? They'd do it in a heartbeat. They paid pennies for him and Shumpert and got (a little) more than they paid for

I cant believe anyone is defending JR period. When was the last time JR didnt let a team down when it mattered? Denver, NY, Cleveland? You said earlier that it was because of a "cancerous environment" in NY that JR failed. Was there one in Cleveland that made him melt down yet again? He does this every time.
I dont believe the Cavs are patting themselves on the back right now for trusting JR, why would they? JR shows up in a child's toy for the playoffs, disrespects his coach on national TV, and has about as steep a dropoff when the chips are down as a player can have. I see nothing for the Cavs to celebrate except for getting some mostly very good D from Shump. They didnt get JR for pennies on the dollar, they got him for exactly what he is worth.

They aren't getting to the Finals without JR..Do u deny that??..JR didn't close it out for them, so he can't be trusted??

Well, first off he's no Felton.
JR is like a race car that runs great until the last lap, every time. If JR were in the league for 2-3 years I might understand the willingness to defend him. Its going on 11 years in the league and JR is pushing 30. Ive seen enough.

Really? This is a chance of a lifetime and JR has all kinds of talent but couldn't show up in the Finals? If you can't get it going for the NBA Finals then what's the freaking point? Dude is just one of those guys that does this every time he's in the post season. He was given a chance to set himself up for the rest of his career if he could just show up and be half of what he is capable of, but he couldn't do it. People make excuses for JR but it's just him.
Read that there are some pretty hot "Hovertrax Hangouts" where so called "hoverharlots" try to pick up the guys who show the greatest mastery on those clever little devices.

Defend what..Everyone needs a scapegoat to say why their GM is bad or why their team is bad..I get it JR is easy..Klay Thompson sucked in the Finals and due to make 17 mil next year..The commentators don't care..But JR, well that another story..

You're the one blaming JR's flat out awful career playoff performances on everyone but JR. The talent is undeniably there, but that talent is also undeniably nowhere to be seen when it really matters. The NBA playoffs is replete with examples of role players who stepped up when it mattered. JR never has after 11 years. I dont need any more evidence.

My comments in this thread have not implied that JR is singlehandedly responsible for the Cavs losing this series. It has been directed at those who believe that JR has been a victim of circumstance, and that his utter futlity in the playoffs through 4 teams and eleven seasons isnt enough evidence to conclude that JR cant be counted on in any way when the chips are dowm.

the dude is a proven soft loser so what does it matter? 20 free throws in 18 games is pathetic. with him it's the same shyte different year yet you get a stiffie for a jayvee player.
