Knicks · WCS worked out for nY and not a lick of info (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 6/17/2015 11:02 AM
Its obvious who they like they have no hid it if we all can see it. Being quiet in the nBA is a tell.
nixluva @ 6/17/2015 11:04 AM
Knicks haven't said much of anything on all of their workouts. Only info comes from Agents.
Vmart @ 6/17/2015 11:06 AM
Haha what do you want to hear Briggs that they are taking WCS before the draft and mess up your Euro trip. Pun intended.

We didn't hear anything about their Mudiay or Winslow workouts either though.

Here I posted this in the Stein thread:

crzymdups wrote:Here's the only tidbit I could find about Stein's workout for the Knicks yesterday (from Berman in the Post):

Kentucky’s 7-foot junior defensive big man, Willie Cauley-Stein, worked out for the Knicks on Tuesday and a league source said it was one of his best workouts. He’s in the mix for the Knicks who have the No. 4 pick in the draft.

They haven't released any info about any workout- what happened in Mudiay's? Any idea?

Yes as opposed to what happened after the Knicks' Mudiay and Winslow workouts where there was a vertiable FLOOD of info and videos being circulated. Right?!

I'm not surprised if this is true.....Stein is getting some additional offensive training with all these workout drills. He's probably having the most offensive plays he ever had in his career. And he's becoming a pro at workout videos now. But the knicks have been either quiet about thier workouts.....And loud about why they like everybody. I think it's a direct affect of Phil Jackson playing chess. He likes to keep people off balance.

Stein will be the surprise pick of this draft....might even be in the running for ROY

In my best Kobe Bryant: That's a bold statement.

So just because they havent talked about it YET, means they dont like stein. Look personally i think stein is a reach at 4 but this topic is still silly

Hard to trust anything you hear, unfortunately, and you would really need to see an entire workout to make a judgement on whether it was a good one.

Fraschilla indicated in an interview that his source had told him Mudiay's workout with the Knicks was not great, although Mudiay did a personal workout for him and shot well.

You really need good sources, and they seem to be lacking for the Knicks.

nixluva @ 6/17/2015 4:45 PM
We've seen and heard about 3 WCS workouts and he's looked sharp in all 3. His 1st with Don MacLean was surprising and then he reportedly had a good workout in Denver and then again with the Kings. Rumors of him having a great Knicks workout would seem to just verify that he's legit. It's hard to believe WCS isn't legitimately improved offensively. It's not hard to believe given he did show flashes of offensive ability this year. It may have been just getting the right Training and more Focus on his skills was all that was necessary.

BRIGGS may have been right all along when he said Phil was talking about WCS way back when. Maybe Phil saw some of this shooting and agility in Kentucky practices. If now he's even sharper and more physically fit it may be all Phil needed to see. Watching WCS fly over the top of defenses, blocking shots, defending on the perimeter and then hitting shots may be too much to pass up.

They seem to be keeping things close the vest as opposed to letting everyone know who they want to pick like in past years. It is the right thing to do in my opinion.

Yes and no.

Good to let teams behind you think you might like someone they would be willing to move up for.

There are enough rumors going around, though, even if not official, that will catch the attentions of teams behind us and cause them to give us a call.

At least that's what I would expect.

nixluva @ 6/17/2015 6:23 PM
Teams know the Knicks are in a spot where it's possible to consider a trade. Teams will be calling with all kinds of offers.
jbeachboy @ 6/17/2015 6:27 PM
phil might want to make up for that tyson chandler mistake
FistOfOakley @ 6/17/2015 6:29 PM
nothing has ever come out from the knicks about any of the workouts... stein's camp seems to think that they blew them away though but that could just be bs...

I am really hoping Tyson is brought to the Clips to 'fix' the locker room and 'lead'.
jbeachboy @ 6/17/2015 6:50 PM
one of knocks on stein at kentucky was his motor and that he didnt always bring his consistency every game and played at a high level all the time and even had his passion for game questioned and work ethic, thats troubling

There's no way to do that
