he is a better shooter than every knick outside of Jose and Melo so no they do not have that covered, imo.

how much does he really differ from Gallo, THJr, Ledo, etc. at the expense of salary and the opportunity cost of targeting someone who actually plays defense?

Dude made $5+M last year. Is he worth that much? Not in my book.

Is he worth 5m? I think he is. He is going to provide scoring and before last year he avg about 5 ast per 36.

THjr and Ledo are not even quality players and he plays better D than both.

Lou Williams is just an option not a priority. It just depends on how things go with other FAs.

I Like Lou, Brendan Wright and Ajinca. The 2 bigs should be cheap but effective.

If the Knicks score 120 a game, but give up 160 a game, not sure that helps them short or long term.

Guy can score, but he can't defend. A gutty player who can help many NBA teams and be a good fit for them, but not sure he's quite a good fit for the rebuilding Knicks.

I think if this was true, chasing Lou Williams would be an indictment of how where Zen Master and Melo stand in terms of their career and contract status is so far off the practical beaten path of a true team rebuild, where the Knicks are and need to be right now. What the Knicks are doing now is not a practical methodology to rebuilding on the fly, this looks like patchwork to relieve Melo and Zen Master of such heavy criticism, at the cost of the Knicks actual future.

but it's not and we know that, right?

I don't think Phil has Lou high on his list of players. He's talked almost exclusively about needing Bigs, Defense and Penetration. He's never talked about 3pt shooting. This is why I have relentlessly posted Phil's actual statements. These kinds of rumors are taken way too seriously even when they don't match the very things the team has stated that they're looking for. He may have Lou on his list somewhere but I would think he's gonna be looking for something the team is missing before a player that pretty much duplicates what we already have.
